All ticket/travel information thread - 2009/10: Touting will not be tolerated

If, in the current climate where season tickets were available into the season, if someone wanted to change the name of one of their season tickets, how do you think that would be greeted Ralphie?

I think it would have been greeted more promisingly if you hadn't already paid for it mate!

You'll just need to hope that they're not doing the checks this season (after all, it costs money). Going to Wolsfburg?

Well I did mean for next season, damage is done already this

Will see what the job situation is like come then, but as things stand, no :(

I know that they were accepting ticket name changes in the renewal period this year - not sure if it makes any difference now that the season has started though.

Ah well that's great news, that's exactly what I wanted to hear

Will put up for it this season and make that change next

They were doing some kind of name change amnesty as they want people with multiple tickets in one name to change them to different names - plus I suppose they prefer someone to transfer the ticket then just let it lapse.

Any idea how I can get hold of tickets for the City game? I'll be in London for work that week and I'm holding off flight arrangements to try squeeze it in.

Viagogo doesn't seem to have any and elsewhere I haven't found any for less than 180 quid!

For reference if others are looking, this is the best deal I managed to find. Odd, it quotes £139 for City but then charges you £104 inc. P&P

Thoughts?

Shit, f*ck, damn & b*gger!

Utd decide to tell us today that we needed to have joined the travel club by yesterday in order to apply for Besiktas away tickets tomorrow onwards...

Fairly typical - and there was I thinking I could try a legitimate, above board, method of getting a ticket for this one.

Ay was out of order if you ask me, no email or anything. They need to stop assuming everyone goes on the website religiously every day

Don't know about the 'onwards' bit though, did just say for Besiktas. You think you're screwed for the whole season because of it now?

I got an e-mail.

I'm pretty sure that there will be a deadline before each Euro away for new applicants.

I'd seen they'd want us to join up - but I thought they could tell us in advance of the deadline that we neede to join prior to that deadline in order to make an application for tickets. Did I miss an email telling me I'd have to join the travel club by that date?

THE MANCHESTER UNITED EUROPEAN TRAVEL CLUB INTRODUCED

Dear Supporter,

The UEFA Champions League returns in September and with European away games growing increasingly more popular, the Reds have introduced a new Manchester United European Travel Club.

The basis of the Travel Club is to try to provide a safer and more responsible environment for genuine Manchester United supporters who wish to follow the team across Europe and as you have previously attended / shown an interest in attending European away matches, we would like to make you aware of how the Travel Club works.

Recent events have shown that fans travelling to European destinations can experience hostility from home supporters and confusion when confronted with different methods of policing than they encounter at English stadia. This has led to steps being put in place to try and handle these types of situations. The Italian Government, for example, has made it a legal requirement for all spectators to provide name, address, date of birth and passport details. Other countries are likely to follow suit and UEFA are looking to introduce a similar scheme themselves in the future.

A system was put into place for supporters that follow the England national team and it has proved very successful in substantially reducing trouble abroad and has shown to be popular with fans. The Manchester United European Travel Club will mirror that system in the hope of creating a friendly atmosphere at European away fixtures.

All Executive members, Season Ticket holders and One United Members that intend to travel to any European away fixture must sign up to the travel club. Registration is free of charge and details can be found online at - Manchester United Official Web Site.

What's more anyone that travels with an official travel partner of Manchester United, such as Co-Operative Sports Travel, must also be a member of The Manchester United European Travel Club. Once you have registered as a member, you will receive a letter of confirmation and it will register on your ‘online booking history’ when you log onto the official website.

I'm not seeing a deadline warning there

Yeah - that's I thought. Maybe I'll ring up the ticket line (since I've now joined) and put my case.

This may seem like a daft question but is your ST in your own name?? If not, whose passport details did you put in for the passport to join the club??

Presuming you have your own ST here but thought I'd ask anyway

So... anyone got a 'spare' for Besiktas away?

I've been told there is no way they can process an application for the Besiktas away game for me - applications for the travel club are supposedly on hold until after the ballot. (Seeing as I completed a travel club app on Thurs eve, this must just mean they won't finish the processing until later).

Anyone know when Sky's fixtures for the remaining games will be announced?

Besiktas results are out. I managed to get tickets (x5) but cannot go to the games as I am in the states, if anyone is looking to go out to Turkey and needs a ticket let me know.

That'll do nicely.

Cheers mate, take it your going so will pick it up on the day?

Where is it?

Course I'll be going. Meet at Tollgate or Doorway before hand. It's NT1, on the Stretty touchline. You're next to the mighty Sparkle.

Have you give up your ST?

No I was originally going on holiday on the 20th so I told my dad he could have my ticket because he's not been to Old Trafford for ages. I then changed my flight to the 21st but my dad seems pretty keen on going now so I want to try get a ticket for him. I was going to offer Wolves but I don't think he would have been impressed haha.
