Carlos Queiroz launches astonishing new attack on Real Madrid

New Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz will carry on his personal vendetta against Real Madrid by refusing to pick any Portuguese who plays for the Spanish club. In a move that will shock world football Queiroz is preparing to do his old club one last favour by forcing Cristiano Ronaldo to remain at Old Trafford.

Speaking on Friday he told a close friend "I will not pick anyone who plays for that club (Real Madrid). They cannot get away with what they've done. I will make a stand do what is right."

His plans will enrage FIFA president Sepp Blatter, also a Real Madrid fan. It could see the end of Cristiano Ronaldo's move to the Spanish champions. It's widely known Ronaldo values his international career and will not do anything to risk damaging it.

:D

:lol::lol:
Brilliant, he's probably not a big fan of Pepe then.
Doubt he'll actually enforce this though, but the statement will at least put even more focus on Real Madrid as a club filled with twats.

Edit: Oh, just realised this is probably a wind up, it did sound a bit too good/weird to be true.

:D

Oh, do I hope that's feckin' true! Hurt the bastards.

I used to believe this -- that Ronaldo was happy with both camps; he'd be happy to go but also happy to stay.

But not anymore. Before I always thought his silence meant that he wasn't averse to leaving, but wouldn't mind staying. He didn't want to say he was going to stay as that would mean he definitely wouldn't go, something he'd really like, but he also didn't want to demand to leave because he wanted to make sure that if the deal went through he could stay here, and he didn't want to burn all the bridges when he probably does have some good memories here.

But now he has broken his silence (which, having not spoken for this long, he didn't need to do), and has firmly thrown his hat in the ring with Madrid. I don't think he's going to stay. I don't see how he can stay. I just hope we get as much money as we can.

I fear, though, that that won't happen now. Madrid are very, very clever when it comes to situations like this. Sound out the club to see if they want to sell, toss some ridiculous figures around. Plant in their minds the seeds that if the worst comes to the worst they can always cash in, and it also makes the player more likely to ask -- his current club won't be shafted. Let it fester for a while, all while continuing to court the player; get his national manager, his family members, his friends, his agent and even the President of FIFA to encourage him to leave. Eventually, his head will be turned and the club he belongs to will need to sell. And, suddenly, it's their desire to sell just as much as Madrid's desire to buy. The price can be lowered dramatically from the numbers first bandied around.

I think he's going to go, and I think he'll have gone before the Charity Shield match at the start of August. My worry now is that my fears are well-placed, and we'll see him go for something resembling an insulting figure.

It's not like we have a history of selling our big players for good prices, especially to Madrid (Van Nistelrooy for a measly £8,000,000, Beckham barely hit £20,000,000). Ronaldo's transfer will probably be between £30,000,000 and £40,000,000. I cannot foresee it breaking the world record, not now that Madrid have successfully unsettled the player.

a lot of valid points there duck, but lets not get too carried away, we can hold our own against real madrid, have faith dear fella, for fear is weakness and man utd are NOT weak but fearless:devil:

Sorry, I don't see how he's 'firmly' thrown his hat anywhere. Equally, I don't see how Calderon's tactics are anywhere near working except with the grubby press and, seemingly, most on here. How much more can he do? He's already made Real public enemy no. 1 with most clubs, roped Blatter, Platini and FIFA in to be dragged through the mire (already there I suppose so no effect) and to what effect? We're still not selling and Ronnie's still not submitted a request. Can't see that conclusion at all.

If SAF decides to sell him it will be because he is confident that United without Ronaldo > United with Ronaldo

I think Carlos will have another word with Ronaldo now when he has been confirmed as the new Portugal coach. We all know what playing for Portugal means to Ronaldo and if the new coach tells him to stay at United, the cnut might think about staying.

Difference between 2 Portugeezers

Quieroz quotes:

Carlos Queiroz issued this statement after United agreed in principle with the Portuguese FA to release him from his contract:

"It is with a very heavy heart that today I leave the greatest football club in the world after five fantastic years. This has been a special period in my life both personally and professionally. I have been so lucky to have had the opportunity to work in first class facilities with a staff team who are at the top of their profession.

"Our players on and off the pitch make the difference and to them also I owe a great deal of gratitude for their hard work, professionalism and most of all their performances. I feel we have in place the basis for the next generation to follow in the tradition of such world class players as Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best.

"Of course our success as a family is based on strong leadership and in The Glazer Family, The Board, David Gill and not least of all Sir Alex Ferguson we have the support and skills to stay at the top. To Sir Alex, I thank him for his faith in me and his knowledge, spirit and desire from which I will take strength and have confidence in my new role.

"I will forever be a fan and admirer of the club and also thankful that I had the opportunity to be part of such a great institution, a vast organisation but with a unique feeling of family and community. This leads me finally to our fans - local, national and international. I thank them for their fantastic support and encouragement in my time at the club, always there when we need them to support us both home and away in huge numbers.

"In conclusion I wish everyone at our club, continued success in the years to come and to continrespected the world over."

And Cristiano Ronaldo No. #12632 quotes

Asked about his future after the Champions League final, which Manchester United won 6-5 on penalties, he told reporters: "I don't promise nothing. I don't promise nothing to my mum, I don't promise nothing to supporters."

"It is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want," Ronaldo replied when asked directly what it would be like to play at the Bernabéu.

When asked if he would speak to Ferguson directly, Ronaldo said: "I don't know what I have to say to him. I have to say what I want and what I think. It is my opinion, that is why I don't mind if people get upset. It is my decision. It is what I want."

"A couple of goals, and everyone will be happy"

On Blatters slavery comments " He is right, the president is right"

"You know what i want, everybody knows, we'll see"

and thats only a few of Ronaldo's comments

Same nationality, although difference in maturity and humbleness and just plain logic is vast.

so many people dont want him here unless he WANTS to be here, this statments will only fuel the fires of the "feck him of now" mob.

These guys have a lot to answer for

Saved in the "cocks" folder.

I definitely agree he's immature - but learning - and it's that element that Calderon's playing on. The plain fact is that he hasn't asked for a transfer, even with the massive pressure being put on him. We can only conjecture the reasons but some make more sense than others. But note that Calderon seems to be the one trying to pull out all the stops, not us and not Ronnie. That says a lot.

Naivity at its best!

Oh poooooor Ronaldo...so much pressure from Calderon and the fans

And who exactly is Calderon? What pressure are you assuming (because it is an assumption, not a fact) is being put on Ronaldo by a President for whom he isn't even under the employment of? You honestly don't think Blatter/Platini/Calderon will put a price on Ronnie's head if he doesn't play along with their little game, do you? You don't think Ronnie can put them in their place?

Basically, Ronnie's been given enough chances to say 'I'd love to play for Madrid but if it doesn't happen, Manchester it is'. Instead we've got moans about 'slavery' and 'dreams' and knowing what he wants...

And erm, mate....Barry has yet to put in a transfer request to Liverpool as well, so we can assume that he wants to stay at Villa...right? There must be a reason for that...right? I mean why publicly hint that you want to move, if your intention is to stay...right? The pressure from Benitez must be too much!

I believe he will stay, because we've said so, not because he wants to. The whole world is watching, and I doubt we'll buckle under pressure, be that from Ronnie, Calderon, or Blatter. I have no doubt also that once it sinks in to Ronnie that we are not going to budge (unless he hands in a transfer request) he'll come back and start talking about being misinterpreted and people like you will eat it up.

ooooooooh the pressure :wenger:

I believe the 3 month layoff for Ronaldo is the best thing that could happen. The team will play without him, others will step up and shine. By the time Ronaldo comes back, he, the fans and the club may see that the golden boy is not as needed as we thought.

Other players always step up in these times, especially on a team with the depth of talent as United.

If they don't (which I doubt) - then we will know exactly how important he is. My guess is we have relied on him too much and others can fill the void.

So, thanks to the ankle injury, we have the perfect situation.

i hardly think the comparisons you draw are fair?
you are making assumptions without full knowledge, on what has been leaked to the press..
you seem to think the a corrupt cnut like blatter cant put the pressure on ronaldo? ronny should be able to just 'feck him off'' and you have the timerity to call fjred naive.. please think first.

Is this true

It's brilliant how Carlos considers United as part of him.

I like the way he uses the word "WE" and "OUR".

I think thats a fair assessment of the tactics that have been employed Count, other that I think Ronaldo by his actions threw his hat in the Madrid ring some time ago, and not just with yesterdays comments

I disagree with the price we'd get for him though. Madrid are good, their tactics are designed to get a players price down, and perhaps it will work. But if we change our stance and accept an offer, it'll still have to be very big. The club can't justify selling our best player on the cheap, and the Glazers won't allow it. These are business men, and they won't let their greatest playing asset leave for paltry. I still fancy the odds of him staying and greater than him leaving, I see United digging in over this. All thats happened is Ronaldo has ensued he's lost a lot of friends in Manchester, and its going to be extremely awkward for him next season

Completely agree, when all is said and done he will still be a United player next year.

So when does ronnie come back to play for us will it be sometime in september after the international break ???

No one really knows, some say 6 weeks some say 12, probably somewhere in between which would put him back some time in September

this is what I don't get. In the 06 world cup, ronaldo said he was prepared to make his dream move to RM. search for villar mir +cunto's name and you'll see many articles. Yet, we turned our backs to this and we were all "viva ronaldo". the OT faithful should've sticked a foot up his ass in that first home game. where was all the uproar?

Barring Ronaldo going round and attempting to cause actual harm to his fellow United players [farfetched], no amount of money that Madrid could offer would be enough to force his exit if it was my decision.

And if we were to, i think we'd be being short sighted but that's JMO.

We all know that Fergie can be as stubborn as anything and if it be only his decision, i reckon Cristiano will still most likely remain with us for at least a further season. If Gill and or the Glazers try and convince him to reach terms over it, who knows.

Still as before, one big waiting game. I doubt we'll have seen the end of it by the time the season starts, not unti the window is definitelyy closed.

oh the hippocracy eh.
when he sticks a blinder in the top corner securing a vital 3 points all will be forgiven..
ultimately its only about the football. we all really miss the football.

Thats it, ive decided that Ronaldo really is a cnut of epic proportions and I want him out! Stood by him too long, the fans feckin worshipped him and chanted his name at every possible moment even in matches without his presence, then he goes and takes a big dump on the club, the manager and the fans.

I actually hope the greasy cnut doesnt pick up the world player of the year award now - they should just give it to Sir Alex for his prophecy and his brilliance, regardless if he isnt a player.

This is probably true

We have two options, one to let an unhappy player who has annoyed a lot of people to come back, or let Real get what they want. Both not ideal scenarios. But personally I reckon the bigger principle for a club of the stature of United is to not allow players who have no heart to play any where near Old Trafford.

A big pay day will soothe any pain. Besides only time will tell who gets a better deal if a sale was agreed. Real get your cheque book out, and make the boy live his dream. It was fantastic while it lasted.
