All Ronaldo fanboys

He's had a better season than Ronaldo...

He's not looked too clever with Argentina recently, has he?

To be fair, I watched Ronaldo the other day for Portugal and he was poor to the extent that it's not even worth discussing.

So, as a result of those two sentences or so, you want Real Madrid (yes, Real Madrid!) to win the league next year, despite being one of the most detestable clubs in world football, and also in spite of having Gabriel Heinze in their squad.

Ok.

No, you asked why I didn't like Messi.

I have plenty more reasons for not liking Barca, ever since 1994... Thierry Henry being there...

I hate Heinze as much as any United fan, but don't give me the Franco thing, Barcelona aren't exactly squeaky clean.

Whilst the argies are struggling they'll still qualify, portugal actually might not...

Also Messi did look quite clever, easily the best player on the park agaisnt ecuador. Whilst Ronaldo has been as shit as the rest of his portugal team mates, aybsmal.

I'm not pretending Ronaldo is doing well with Portugal, but did you see Messi against Ecuador & Bolivia recently?

You and your Messi "easily the best player on the park" whenever he plays replies... :boring:

Considering they lost 2-0, I'd suggest you give some credit to the Ecuador players.

Yeah, they were good. There is a thread on the game already, i watched it. I've seen Ecuador twice and they are a good side, deserved to beat brazil but they sneaked a draw.

Messi in the first half was utterly unplayable, but i guess you ignored that.

How are they not?

They're corporate whores in their own right, luckily for them Madrid eclipses them in those stakes. Check out the Barca documentary from a couple of years ago, Inside Barcelona or something.

One PR stunt with UNICEF and everyone seems to think that Barca are some sort of social movement.

I don't like his holier than thou attitude, his comments just before the CL final about them playing football "the right way", about them being the "neutral's choice", etc...

Absolutely horrible comments. What a despicable scumbag would say things like these. Far worse than leaving the pitch in the middle of a game, throwing imaginary cards, criticizing the manager in public and pissing all over your adoring fans.

When the official club statement says Ronaldo has asked to leave again it certainly puts last season's shenanigans in perspective. Which is why the people who really look like gimps are those who claimed he didn't try to feck off last summer.

There is that longest ever thread so those individuals can be named and shamed.

I can see where Sultan is coming from actually.

There is definitely a certain type of new breed United supporter (and a lot on this board) who get so wrapped up in their support of individual players that they forget about the bigger picture and the fact that the rest of us only care about the club. Ronaldo, more than any other player I can think of, attracts these people in hordes.

If Ronaldo's departure means a proportion of these people lose interest in United and/or Redcafe then I think that's a very healthy cull.

I was gutted when Beckham left. Ruud too. For some reason the departure of Ronaldo doesn't bother me anywhere near as much. No more will he/won't he flirting with Madrid, no more cringe-making tantrums on the pitch and no more pointless BPITW arguments on this place (well, a lot less, anyway)

He's a cracking player and I've enjoyed watching him play for United but he comes across as a bit of a cock on the pitch, has legions of rather irritating fans and I'm considerably less bothered about his departure than I thought I would be. Legend my arse.

I think it comes with age Granpa ;)

Alot of our younger fans havent really seen a player leave United at his peak before. Other than Roy Carroll that is..........

Aside from £80m, the fact that we won't have to endure Ronaldo Vs Rooney threads and Ronaldo fanboys next season can only be a positive. Oh that is, until the next big superstar we create. That's right, create. Only United can create such superstars.

No other player came out and criticised the manager after the game. He probably knew that he'd be off, so basically, didn't give a stuff.

Barca.. Messi..

I get your point though. I prefer to make them not buy them too.

Would be nice to sign someone to soften the blow on the fans though.

Thinking about it, did any united player criticize Fergie's tactics publicly and survive?

disappointed with you about this thread, Sultan.

not your best show.

methinks Ronaldo's departure has affected you more than you think, since this is so out of character for you.

i was a fan of the lad, maybe not so much over the past couple of seasons, but i'm sad to see him leave. i wish him success, but only on a personal level. he's brought me a lot of joy watching United. i can't begrudge him his dream after all that.

We'll have to endure a lot worse from these fans if we fail to win the treble next year.

There is an entire thread in the newbies right now postulating this is all a cover-up/scheme for Ronaldo to prove his loyalty Kaka-style where we accept a big-money offer and he rejects personal terms because he loves the club.

Seriously.

I'm neither making any of that up nor exaggerating.

This is true.

You just have to accept that on the continent, players dream of playing for Real/Barcelona.
Players who stay at United for life are players from the UK.

He gave us so much, yet the bitterness from some of you so called top reds is ridiculous. Yes he has left, but whats the point in looking at all the bad points now? You should be looking at all the great things he did for the club, and how he helped create a magnificent team, helped us get to our 18th title, and 3rd European cup. He was an integral part of our success.

Its a bit sad how some of you 'top reds' are slagging him off after he served us for 6 years, other players have served for less time, and got less stick than this lad.

Moronic.

Messi's fantastic but I'm talking about superstars in terms of popularity, marketability, commerical value et al.

Nope. But I don't think we agreed terms based on his criticism. I just think Fergie had enough of his attitude and thought £80m was too much to turn down.

That lad Ekeke seems to think we're doomed now and that it was the club's decision to sell Ronaldo. As if the player had nothing to do with it.

Seems to me that Ronaldo knew he was off for a long while and he's got his wish. Fair enough, we should all move on.

Ekeke is probably the worst poster on here. Cretin comes to mind.

He even lied to himself .

But why even bother to say this. That is the real fecked up dilemma. Why not just shut the feck up.

Here is one of the hardcore Ronaldo fanboys starting to realise what many figured out months ago

People who assume that other posters "like" or "dislike" players. What the feck is all that about? Why can't people get theire head around United fans who couldn't give a shit about individuals and only "like" the club.

So you don't think that people repetitively labelling CR a 'cnut' were expressing a personal preference/dislike of the individual and/or his behaviour?

It seems entirely plausible that there are many Utd fans whose (massively) primary allegiance is to the club, yet who still have favourite players, and those they like less well, even if they are sensible enough to support all our players.

There are also many people who enjoyed Ronaldo displaying his skills, and appreciated the benefits his efforts brought their 1st love, United. The latter are probably (like me) disappointed that we will now not see the existing team grow still further before major surgery. Seeing these young players develop into a truly fine team has been an additional pleasure of being a Utd supporter these last 3-4 years.

We will, of course, develop still more fine teams, Utd will continue as always - yet I'm sad that this chapter of the Utd story has drawn to an unsatisfactory conclusion.

Does that make me a 'fanboy' Sults?

Anyone else getting a sick sense of enjoyment from watching the fan-boys work themselves up into a lather about how we're doooooomed without him, whilst simultaneously trying to make it all somehow not Ronaldo's fault?

Part of me doesn't give a feck if we win nothing next season, if dicks like that lose all interest in United.

me too. You always seemed like a rational, level headed poster. This thread is very out of character for you Sultan...

Just for the record, FS old mate, do you think Ronaldo tried to leave last summer?

Bit of a stupid statement isnt it?

Of course he tried to leave last summer. Its obvious.

The agreement was probably already in place. But it doesnt matter. Its a big loss to the club, but we move on.

Can everyone stop trying to prove that they are Uber reds now. Thanks.

If it meant another young United player blossoming into a talent as great as Ronaldo I will gladly put up with the next generation of fan-boys.

Meanwhile, a healthy cull in their numbers would give me great pleasure.

You'd be surprised how many people have been trying to deny this all season long. FeedingSeagulls included.

disappointed with you about this thread, Sultan.

Don't understand the grief Sultan is getting over this thread. Being a fan of a football team you're technically supposed to be on the other end of the rational scale and sometimes do or say stupid statements like "Patrice Evra was a pointless signing" (I'm guilty of that one).

Rationally, sure people should mourn over the loss of their favourite player. But there are a lot of annoying posters on here who are wengerized by Ronaldo.
