So you don't think that people repetitively labelling CR a 'cnut' were expressing a personal preference/dislike of the individual and/or his behaviour?
It seems entirely plausible that there are many Utd fans whose (massively) primary allegiance is to the club, yet who still have favourite players, and those they like less well, even if they are senible enough to support all our players.
There are also many people who enjoyed Ronaldo displaying his skills, and appreciated the benefits his efforts brought the their 1st love, United. The latter are probably (like me) disappointed that we will now not see the existing team grow still further before major surgery. Seeing these young players develop into a truly fine team has been an additional pleasure of being a Utd supporter these last 3-4 years.
We will, of course, develop still more fine teams, Utd will continue as always - yet I'm sad that this chapter of the Utd story has drawn to an unsatisfactory conclusion.
Does that make m a 'fanboy' Sults?
