All England Lawn Tennis Championship 2003 - Wimbledon

and Roddick breaks back...

are you watching live?

that was a joke

this is a slam and something like that happens

just caught bits and pieces. How does Rudsedski get to face Roddick in the 2nd round anyway. That should've been a fouth rounder or a quarter.

its because greg hasnt played for 9 months and isnt seeded

a fan called the ball out, they stoped playing and greg just lost it

should have played the point again

but roddick is amazing

Well done to Roddick for sending that whinging Canuck packing. I was disgusted by his language and hope he has the good sense to take his foul mouth and Posh Spice-like annoying wife back to Canada.
Good luck to Tiger Tim, a true, classy Brit.

Sharapova. Looking good.

Roddick looks to have a favourable draw. The only players that might stand a chance against him are Myrni, Schuetller, Schalken, and of course Federer. Srichaphan might cause some problems as well but he doesn't seem to be on his game thus far.

Is it true the BBC had to apologize for Rusedski saying "wanker" on live television or something? Was a fantastic match imo - great serves all round. I like Roddick, think he'll go far, feel a bit bad for Greg though. I like him more than Henman.

The pick of today's headlines
Crudedski
Rudedski
Greg's Shame
Crying Foul

Think the press are going a bit overboard here. So he lost his cool - it's sport. Passions are high. If the cameras hadn't picked up on it people wouldn't be making such a big deal of it (although they didn't air the foul language over here).

I felt so sorry for him - that call was definitely not like the normal ones you hear from the crowd. He could have won the set as well.

And I don't blame him for losing his cool. Shows he's passionate, and he was man enough to apologise very soon after.

Apparently they were "the same rowdy kids" who had been making a commotion earlier.

Why weren't they thrown out?

Agree, even Roddick felt sorry for him as well

The worst part is that Greg is likely to be fined for his little outburst. I hope the lout that made the call feels a right prat now.

He let his "little" tirade cost him the set (and therefore the match). He should control his temper next time.

He has no one to blame but himself there.

eagerly awaiting..
battle of the babes: sharapova vs dokic

i think this sharapova babe has huge potential and damn f**king loud!!!

I have no doubt he realises that.

Easier said than done if you're passionate about something.

Henman is yet to be tested sufficiently on his way to the quarters - is this a good or a bad thing? I have a feeling he'll struggle against Nalbandian.

Henman thru. :D Hope he can keep up his performances against the big guns.

Henin also doing well so I am happy :D On course to meet Serena Williams in the semis which would no doubt be a rather good match.

Nalbandian didn't look too great today but that can be partly attributed to Kucera who is pretty much a mirror image of Nalbandian. Nalbandian's strengths are his returns and groundstrokes, which makes him a very tough opponent for Henman. If their previous encounters are anything to go by, I expect Henman to make a fast start and then Nalbandian to gradually get into a rythmn returning serve and get control of the match. Normally Nalbandian would go on to win on hardcourts but this is grass and Henman has the home crowd advantage. I see a tough 5 setter, and I can't call the winner. But even if Henman does get past this, it could leave him as easy pickings for Grosjean/Ferrero in the quarters.

if i'm not wrong..i think serena will meet capriati first..for sure it will be a good match..hope capriati will beat her..

He played a good game today - has Wimbledon seen the last of Andre Agassi? Even at 33, he must be tempted to have another go - he can't bow out like that, although it may be better than possibly embarrassing himself next year.

6-2, 2-6, 6-1 against davenport.(she's a quitter..)

caprati trouced serena in the first set, 6-2.

that's the furthest she went.

I saw the game and Philipousis played well. But there's just not comparing that style of tennis to Agassi, who simply plays wonderful tennis.

Banging in an enormous amount of serve winners is just not very interesting to watch.

Henman got a bit of a break today. Hopefully the break will do for Henman what it did for Ivanesevic two years ago. Down by a set, he has to regroup and take advantage of his fortune.
