Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Robben and Essien both went to Chesea due to huge contracts offered. We were in for both

Can't blame contracts when we weren't even close to agreeing deals with their clubs. We were never in for Essien when Chelsea became involved as it was clear they would dwarf whatever we offered Lyon. And we had no one to blame for trying to renegotiate the Robben deal with PSV and offering paltry sums, aside from Kenyon maybe, when Chelsea came in and paid the asking price.

We'll never know where those players would have gone if they had a choice. But through whatever thinking, we didn't let them choose.

Believe guys. I know its tough. i know everyone is saying we have no money, everyone is saying there is no value in the market, everyone is saying we will never sign a big name again. But thats what United is all about, United shut those critics up. They said we have mediocre team and we wont challenge for trophies this year, and we won the 19th and played in european cup final. 15 years ago they said 'You will win nothing with kids" and United won it all with kids. 50 years ago they said the club is going to shut down after plane crash. And it went on to to play in FA Cup final that very year. So now United can do it again. We can sign someone cool. We Will! Come on United!

The last 10 pages leave me dazed and confused.

I know Sanchez is an exceptional player and versatile across all attacking positions. If we're crazy enough to sign him, for that price, then we must be reverting back to a more fluid attack that served us well a few years ago. The speed, width and skill of our wingers would frighten the life out of the opposition. It's a muppets dream!

However I won't feel better unless I start hearing some good stuff about central midfield. It's still got to be the highest priority above all the transfer madness.

Perhaps the reason we are "in" for Sanchez is his early availability compared to whoever (please let there be one) central midfielder we are looking at.

If we sell berbatov it does..

What Berbatov has to do with winger/playing in the hole?

Does signing Jones and Raphael Varane makes munch sense? no. but it seems we are getting both.

Don't believe we're getting Varane, but even if we do he surely won't play next season.

Getting 2 young lads in Jones and Varane is not exactly the same as getting Young and Sanchez who are established players and will require first team experience and starting positions.

Can we agree on a talented kid at least?

Was. Debatable nowadays after spending so much time on the bench. His development will be even more halted if he stays there..

Apparently Sky have confirmed that we've bid for Sanchez? If that's true then if he does move to City it's obviously all about the money.

Summer is a painful time to be a United fan. It is so weird. Man United are supposed to be the biggest sports club in the world. The most decorated club in England. The richest european football club bar Real and Barcelona. And yet teams like City, Chelsea are 20 times more likely to sign a top athlete during summer. We like to dream about Wesley Sneijder or Alexis Sanchez, but the truth is United are not capable to attract such well established talent.

Barcelona and Real will buy world class players for their bench options, City will get them self Zlatan and Aguero .Chelsea will get KAKA and Neymar. even declining team like Milan and Inter always make most exciting transfers. But never United

United is like this stupid jew kid on Christmas eve , looking through the window , all alone and depressed, to the kids down the street who all are playing with their new toys that they've been waiting for a year. We United fans just like that jewish kid, are left in disgust when summer transfer window opens, and all we can do is to watch at other teams excitedly unwrapping their new "toys". Knowing that we will never be in their place.

God i despise summer. it breaks my heart every single year

 Your a spoilt feckin prick:nono:

Lets see if we can have an alternative to the Benzema/Ozil thread this year. One that runs along the same lines but where we actually sign the player.

Sanchez talks underway confirm Barca

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed the club have started negotiations with Udinese for Chile forward Alexis Sanchez.

The Spanish and European champions have been linked with the 22-year-old winger for some time and Bartomeu is hopeful a deal will be reached.

"We are optimistic, but this has just begun. We are negotiating for Sanchez," he told Chilean newspaper La Tercera.

"We know he is a valuable player; that is why there are so many teams after him. We have to continue talking and we will see what is going to happen in the next few days."
Sanchez, who is also a reported target for Inter Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United, is thought to prefer a move to the Nou Camp.

But Bartomeu insists the player's club hold the key to his arrival in Barcelona.

"We will first have to come to an agreement with Udinese," he said

So tonight the Mirror are saying

Sanchez, who is also a reported target for Inter Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United, is thought to prefer a move to the Nou Camp.

Even though this time last night they were saying

And Gill was also spotted in talks with Sanchez’s representatives, who have been with Barca - with insiders revealing that the player wants to go to United above all of their rivals.

:wenger:

That's how newspapers sell their papers. Probably sold far more by mentioning United than they would have done without....not to mention the millions who will have clicked on their links.

No doubt we'll be "involved" in a lot more transfers yet.

Means nothing, Udinese have confirmed they are negotiating with a whole host of teams.

Twitter is where it at now.Loads of ITK with on the hour information that put Tabloids to shame.

Let us all move to the Modric thread. Atleast the bidding for him right now is at 22m.

so let the muppet mass migration to the modric thread begin.....

I assume Sanchez would replace Pedro? Pedro is pretty dam good himself so I'm not sure he'd improve them that much.
