Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

It would be good for us to get young and Sanchez, that'd be four out and out wingers in our squad to cover two spots. With Giggs playing more centrally. It would kinda leave Park out in the cold though.

I have a feeling this isn't going to happen though

we're going to have a midfield made up entirely of wingers:

Sanchez Valencia Giggs Nani

Sub in Park and Young when and where needed.

Yeah it was supposed to be his honeymoon too - they broke it off 2 days before it was to go ahead. Someone else broke off their wedding around the same time - i think it was Albrighton?!
Just goes to show, nothing is official until pen is put to paper, especially when it comes to Young.

SSN just had Kevin Buckley (some journalist in Italy) basically repeating the earlier reports saying there is no deal with City atm & his source said United are having talks but there is an auction as several other clubs are also involved.

He added the price being insisted is 35 million euros and apparently player prefers to stay in Italy.

All this talk of Sanchez, Young, Nani etc what about Antonio Valencia, i bet hes reading this somewhere feeling thoroughly unloved right about now.

So ill say it, Antonio Valencia.

Or he's smiling (unlikely) to himself about us just assuming he is a cert.

I think with the flexibilty of playing either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 would definately see enough playing time for Valencia, Nani, Sanchez or Young with Park and Cleverly as further backup.

Left Wing: Young, Nani, Sanchez, Cleverly and Park.
Right Wing: Valencia, Nani, Sanchez
Forward: Young, Sanchez, (Rooney)

Out of interest (ok sheer an utter boredom) how many of you would genuinely swap Nani for Sanchez given the opportunity?? i wouldn't for a moment, id echo Sir alexs words of cows in fields and something else.

Would rather keep Nani and sell Young :smirk: and buy Sanchez

I wouldn't swap either, but wasn't there like some stupid rumour about doing a deal with Inter Nani for Sneijder. Would people do that deal then use the money left for Sanchez?.

Liam Ridgewell.

Ahhh, good lad. I was struggling there

But yeah... thats a bit fecked up eh?

2 mates - both gettin married days apart - both cancel weddings within days... fecking strange to say the least!

BIRMINGHAM City star Liam Ridgewell called off his £170,000 wedding by sending a text to guests just eight days before the ceremony.

The defender, 26, had planned to tie the knot with Kirsty Maclaren, 23, in front of 200 people next Saturday.

Instead they sent a message saying it was cancelled.

It read: “It’s not been an easy decision but it is mutual. We ask for your understanding at this hard time.”

The news came 24 hours after Ridgewell’s pal, Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, called off his marriage to Nicky Pike, 26 – just two days before the ceremony.

Young, 25, who is on the verge of a move to Manchester United, refused to comment.

He and Ridgewell became pals while playing at Villa, and were likely to have been at each other’s weddings.

There was better luck for Chelsea’s Didier Drogba, 33, who yesterday wed Lalla Diakite, mother to his three children, in Monaco.

I probably would because I think he's potentially one of the best players in the world while I don't think Nani's quite got that in him, but I wouldn't be delighted about it by any stretch, and I think it goes against what our club is about - developing players, showing loyalty to them and teaching them to show it in return, rewarding those who have developed well at the club - and in that sense I find it a bit strange that people think '' about the idea of shipping off Nani and getting Sneijder in.

Buy Young from Villa for £15m.
Sell Young to Liverpool for £28m.
Buy Sanchez from Udinese for £35m.
Swap Sanchez for Sneijder with Inter.
Sell Sneijder to Tottenham for £32m.
Buy Modric from Tottenham for £36m.
Sell Giggs.

Is anyone actually being serious when they talk about this Nani for Sneijder Business though? i assumed naturally it was all a bit of a transfer muppet piss take so joined in. :nervous:

quite debatable, the cows and fields analogy is quite appropriate here

Yes, I think they are. They're don't seem to understand that Fergie is trying to strengthen the squad, not weaken it or leave it the same.

If Fergie really wants Sneijder he'll get him without weakening us elsewhere. (Though I'm not convinced he's after him).

Anyone seriously contemplating the idea of swapping Nani for Sneijder needs to give their head a wobble.

It is very debatable, but say we forget the cows in the other field and just look at our cow...do you think he's potentially one of the best cows in the field-world? I dunno, I've just never seen it. He's always been lacking that key ingredient.

See that piss take may have just flew over my head, I thought they were being entirely serious! There's enough people who hate Nani and his evil head for it to be semi-serious at the least...
