Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Fergie has said he interests us, I just hope our interest hasn't waned now he's delivering on all that potential.

Seemed to be coming off the left on a couple of those clips.

What position is he playing at the moment?

I always had him down as a right winger. He's right footed isn't he?

...

Our left wing needs a lot of work imo. If he can play as well on that side as i've seen him on the right i'd be very keen.

Nani will be our regular left winger unless we sign a specialist imo.

We should sign him, sell Rooney, and play Nani-Sanchez-Valencia behind Berbatov/Chicharito. ;)

His finishing has been improving over the last 12-15 months. He would be a wonderful, versatile addition to our squad.

Surely City will buy him? They'll go for the best available players and Sanchez fits into that category.

He looks like he can play down the middle too.. !! Would be a very exciting purchase along with a few other wingers we've been linked with.

Have some faith man we aren't that bad a club to play for...

We just have to offer the right money, something we have been unwilling to do.

Udinese won't charge that much I think, £25m tops which he's probably worth.

I'm not implying we're not a fantastic club to play for. I'm just saying that City will drive the price up and we won't want to get in a bidding war with them. Similar to David Silva.

He's certainly one of the best players not playing at a big club and that will almost certainly be how City will try to do business in the summer.

I think that probably happened with Milner as well.

He's brilliant. He's been my Transfer Muppet dream for a while now, but I can't see us going for him with Nani and Valencia already staking a claim for the right wing spot.

Any videos of his quadruple yesterday? I've had a gander but can't find any good quality ones.

If we go for an established winger, I think he'll be our main choice.

I think there is a video on the previous page showing his four goals.

For those who watch him regularly, is he comfortable on the left?

I read Paolo Bandini saying somewhere that he has played very well in the central position so far this for Udinese, he is definitely on the top of my Muppet List. I think we'll go for him in this summer.

He featured a lot on the left when he was in River Plate. But in Europe, he has had his mayor breakthrough as a center forward. I don't think that he is the player we need the most, but if Ferguson really is aware of him, I can see us going for him because he is such a big talent and an opportunity we don not wanna waste. Like Rooney, Vidic and Evra. Especially if we have as much money as some believe.

Ok. My bad

I actually reckon Sanchez would be more capable on the left than Nani y'know. We all know how damn brilliant Nani is on the right-side but Sanchez looks good on both sides AND through the middle.

Rooney
Nani Sanchez Valencia

would be insane.

Dammit, need to stop being a transfer muppet, this just won't happen!

Anyway, we need a left footed winger I think, as good as Sanchez is, he's right footed. We've no left footed wingers other than Giggs.

He plays as a second striker at the moment, formerly right wing

If he can play on the left very comfortably, he'd be an outstanding signing. However he seems to favour his right foot considerably. Thats not the end of the world for a left winger, especially someone with his dribbling ability.

Players like Lahm and Ribery when they play on the left still favour their right foot heavily, they just dribble in a maze and never look uncomfortable going around the outside, inside, outside again, back in on to the right foot, etc.

But the fact is that when they end up going on the outside down the left they have a good left footed delivery. If Sanchez has that he could still play there well because he's a good passer and linkup player and that should be seen in evidence coming inside from the left too putting the likes of Hernandez through

Get him get him get him.
We have been following him and I think we might just go for him.

We should have got him last year, or two years ago. Now, every club in Europe will be after him, it will be difficult to get him. He would be a luxury player for United, plus we're being heavily linked with Ashley Young. :(

True. But left wingers with a natural left foot are a dying breed. While inside out wingers ala Messi have proven the bees knees to solve such issues. Like Ronaldo for Real for example.

Sanchez would do better in that hole. He should be the one playing behind Rooney.

I am not convinced about that. He seems like a player who likes to gather pace, and cut inside. He also has the ability to do so. We know that Ferguson like players who has the ability and braveness to do just that. He is not a classic winger, and I would not be surprised if he would prefer to play on the left rather than the right.

To be honest, I would prefer both Rooney and Berbatov before Sanchez behind a striker. I feel that we would struggle to exploit his best abilities in such a position (in the Premier League it would have been difficult to use his pace there). I also fear that it is a position that would bring out the worst in him.

Here's an idea, how about;

----Berbatov/Hernandez
Nani--- Rooney/Berbatov--- Valencia
