Udinese are apparently saying, "he wants to go to Barcelona - we want the deal to be finished now." So, sounds like it's close. The only curious detour is that apparently Barcelona are bidding for Neymar as well.

They said that they may need to use next years transfer budget, if thats the case then they'll be able to afford Fabregas & Sanchez. A Central defender should be a priority - then again, most teams cant get near them to test them!

I seems strange that they are recruiting so heavily with the quality of young players they have in the team. However, they always say you should buy from a position of strength. Villa's a good creator aswell man. He's not your typical centre-forward, the lad can play anywhere in the last third..

I reckon so, I maintain Barca only got involved so that should a deal for Fabregas fall through again they had a backup deal all in place. As it is it looks like Fabregas is off this summer and with City pulling out of the deal as the player doesn't want to join them that leaves it down to either staying at Udinese or hope there's interest from us or Chelsea (both unlikely IMO)

I don't think we ever had too much interest in him, especially at Udinese's valuation, we may have sounded him for the future, he's still very young and has something to prove, no club could justify agreeing his supposed price-tag in my opinion.

i grew up supporting united and don't come from a latino country and the weather and culture of spain and italy appeals to me more.
I can't begrudge any player, even any of our lads, if they want to go to barca (mind you, its the only club i feel this way about right now).....it really is the top boy in all aspects....better weather, has a beach, better pay, less taxes, better nightlife, less strenuous league physically, best club side ever, etc , etc.
