Could be a good shout for a Ronaldo replacement.

I like him, good player, my money is on him coming in

Sorry to distract from the Messi/Ribery/Ronaldinho talk

I've always said it, class player. Very quick, good pace, very good dribbler, can score and crossing is very good. Can play upfron or in either wing.

He scored a double for Chile yesterday.

:lol:My tip for last summer transfer window. The same names seem to be cropping up.And he would like to play for us if these old quotes are to be believed.

"I would like to play in the Premier League and, above all, at Manchester United," Sanchez told Udineseblog.it.

"I like Manchester United, the way they play and they have great players. Before I wanted to play in Spain, but this has now changed."

i'm guessing these quotes were uttered when we were champions of europe.

He's like nani only tiny.

Good dribbler and crosser but doesn't score much. Frankly i'd rather nani/tosic play than buy another average player.

This guy is a decent player but not good enough to replace Ronaldo. We are setting our standards too low. We are supposed to be one of the best teams in Europe. We should be able to attract better players than Alexis Sanchez (with all due respect to him).

I'm sure there were similar opinions when Becks left and we signed Ronaldo.

I like the lad, very lively and tricky. He has good potential, and thats what we are all about making players live up to that potential. Only thing as said is he isn't the biggest of players, size does tell in the Premiership.

He could well be worth a gamble though, it is no more of a risk than splashing £40m on Benzema or £50-60m on Ribery. There is no guarentee either will do as well in the Premier League, it is very unforgiving and many a good player have been found out.

He would love to play for us.And was heavily linked last season. But who knows.

This is a Fergie signing, young, gifted with plenty of potential. Far more likely than the Ribery's/Villa's being mentioned in the caf. We don't buy world class players, we craft them.

Seems more likely than Ribery, hes a player who has the potential to make it at the top level but he seems quite small for the PS. Not size wise but he looks short

Messi is not exactly Crouch size either.

Messi is a freak of nature and if this kid is half as good as him then i would sign him in a heart beat but its highly unlikely because Messis ability is one of a kind

The likes of Rio, Veron, Tevez & co may suggest otherwise.

Exclusive: United hot on the trail of Chile international
by Chris Stanton , 12 June 2009

As Manchester United contemplate life after Cristiano Ronaldo, setanta.com can reveal that the Old Trafford club have held talks with the Chile international Alexis Sanchez.

The agent of the Udinese forward claimed that the player’s representatives have held talks with United as well as a number of other English teams regarding a proposed transfer to The Premier League.

Last summer United registered a formal interest in the 20-year-old, who had just spent a year on loan at River Plate, only for Udinese to rebuff The Red Devils.

An eye-catching season in Serie A during which Sanchez made 32 first-team appearances for Udinese was proof of their prudence.

With United now eyeing a replacement for the Real Madrid bound Ronaldo, Nino Maravilla, or Wonder Kid, could complete a transfer that has been a year in the making.

Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich told setanta.com: “My partner is currently in England working on the transfer of Alexis.

“Yes, we have spoken to Manchester United, but not just to United. We have also held talks with other English teams.

“We are trying to do the transfer this summer.”

But this is what sets us appart from the likes of Real or Chelsea, we are willing to bring young players in and help them reach their potential so they become a 'big name' and hope in turn they will show some loyality to the club that helped them become what they are by staying on with us (i wouldnt have said hope but the whole Ronaldo saga proves that in footballers now days loyality is a trait that is fast disappearing)
