Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

Can't wait for Alexis introduction with the 7th shirt and his first interview with MUTV. Just little more..:drool:

What an absolute mess Arsenal have made out of this deal, They don't get a fee for Sanchez and they got Mkhitaryan in return.

Why is everyone so baffled it's a straight swap? Sanchez is out of contract in 5 months and Mkhi has 2 and a half years. It's not rocket science.

Looking forward to Neil Ashton twisting 'No money involved' into 'Journalists on both sides are unable to even calculate the enormity of the fee swapping hands in this disgustingly extravagant exchange of wealth' in his Sunday Supplement morality sermon tomorrow.

Would have lost him for free in the Summer.

Much worse.

You're getting a player worth around 25m for someone who would have left on a free in a few months. Not that bad.

Mkhi hasn't set the world alight at Man Utd, not many goals or assists. He's also 29, if he flops for us it will be impossible to sell him.

Moreover a team with Ozil, Mkhi, Lacazette, Ramsey and Iwobi will suffer defensively. Especially one like Arsenal. I would have rather lost Sanchez for nothing to be honest. At least then the club could have saved face and said that it was his choice to go to Old Trafford. Now, we're giving you our best player and potentially weakening ourselves in return.

Madness.

Sold them Silvestre, Welbeck and Mikhi, and got RVP and Sanchez.

The word "ridiculous" can't even describe this.

Sanchez will give us more in one season than Mkihtaryan would give us in three.

Contract lengths be damned.

I'm almost beginning to feel sorry for Arsenal.

It's like us making a straight swap De Gea for Cech. So when some have the urge to complain about our transfer dealings, think again...

I'm enjoying watching 99% of the sources people take as gospel, window after window, turn out to have spent the last week lying out of every orifice. Obviously it'll be forgotten by the summer window, when they're regarded as 'in the know' all over again.

Simon Stone has pretty much lost all the credibility he had before with that video of him going giddy over "180 million" cost.

That's true, but when you just look at the players, it's an amazing deal. Jose froze Mhki and would almost certainly try to sell him in the summer. Also, we would most likely get less than what we paid for him.

But ballague and the rest of the sports press said we’re paying Alexis ‘Mercenary’ Sanchez £800,000 per week over 4 years and it’s costing us 500 billion pounds and it’s an absolute disgrace to the sport.

'Straight swap' is a good headline but we can't really judge how good a deal it is financially without knowing the agent fees, signing on fees and the probable 'paying off Mkhitaryan' fees involved.
And after all that, also ignoring the fact that no player in history has ever moved for as much as the equivalent of 25m with just 5 months left on his contract.

Bet Balague has completely lost his mind at this point. Beautiful stuff.

There's obvious logic, but at the same time, one player is still far superior to another.

If it was cash plus mkhi, no one would be baffled by it, despite the different lengths in contracts.
