If we swap him directly for Mkhi that's almost better than free as Mkhi is almost worthless to us now (can't get in the team) and we're saving on his wages!

Collateral Damage 2

Starring
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Mino Raiola
Arsene Wenger
Jose Mourinho

Special Cameo Appearance
Alexis Sanchez

God do people still use this acronym? Seeing that again just made me throw up a little inside my mouth.

Regarding the age thing, we have a young keeper, young CB's, a very young left back, a young World Class CM, young left forward, young striker... what SAF rightly knew was the young talent also needed the experienced elite to play alongside them.
Green and Gold till the club is sold bitches. The Red Knights are preparing a bid as we speak.

We paid 20 mn for a Falcao loan. This is peanuts for a top 3 player in the PL.

3 good seasons and its money well spent.

Matic, Valencia (in the 30+ category), De Gea, Mata (Sanchez when he comes in), possibly Young (in the 30+ category again) if he starts today. I agree with you on the whole though but we're on 4 or 5 players aged 27+ in starting XI.
Holy shit De Gea is 27?

This is a genius transfer by the club, imo. Credit where it's due.
It's not exactly genius. Throwing crazy money at one of the league's best players is something anyone could come up with.

Di Marzio proves himself again as the best journalist around. His sources are always the best.

Furthermore he always gave us the best news about United.

Sigh. Sitting in Gran Caneria airport pressing F5 every few minutes - just like for the past week.

I'm assuming the private flight from Luton to Manc this morning was another false dawn.

Please let Utd turn up today. I don't want Ed to be feeling buyers regret about not pushing things through yesterday coz of another 'unable to get around the parked bus' performance.

Surprised people have a problem with LUHG to be honest.

Yes they have lately started to release funds for transfers, and have been much better than some of the owners out there. However, we'd be in a better place now if we still had our old model.

Erm.... no we wouldn't. Absolutely not.

The Glazers have presided over the most successful period in the club's history @P-Nut0712 and have spent beyond all previous spending of the plc both in wages and transfer fees. Some of you conveniently forgot the old wage cap days.

Best part of signing a 29 year old Sanchez and possibly giving him the number 7 shirt is that we won’t be doing any crazy moves for Bale or for CR7.

Possibly rules out Griezman for £100 million as well.

Best part is that we can buy other players in the summer !

Ed Woodward is damn genius. By getting Sanchez for FREE. ( Yes free , since when anyone adding agent fee , wage bla3x to transfer fee before? )

We are getting top EPL proven attacker, effectively stopping us from spending +100-150m for the likes of griezmann , dybala ( not proven in epl ) , bale , ronaldo etc and at the same time getting rid of our 150k dead wood
He is not free. Arse are getting a player in return.
If that was Pogba, he'd be costing around £100 million .
As it is, it is for a modern day Ralph Milne.
Great business.

This is real world; not FIFA or FM. Teams need a combination of youth AND experience. Our starting eleven has only three players 27+ and none over 30. We actually need a few more older players in the team.

I agree that Tuanzebe should start getting some games but TFM isn’t ready to push for a first team spot yet. Regardless, both are defenders and don’t affect the Sanchez signing in any way.
I am 47. I don't play FIFA or whatever. I just think that we should sign players with potential and try to get players through the acadamy. Sure you need some experience players aswell but I don't think Matic was the best buy we could've done and I don't care much for players turning us down for other clubs

He's been one of United's best players this year! There is absolutely not a single downside to the Sanchez transfer.

We are doing that though.

Well offloading Henrikh for the cost of Sanzhez seems like a fantastic move for me.

It's absolutely brilliant. For those who are talking about ages: Mhkitaryan is about the same age as Sanchez.. It's an amazing upgrade.

Exactly. People tend to ignore it but he's also one man midfield at times and the workload he produces is incredible.

I think we would have struggled badly without Matic. He's been a fantastic acquisition.

We have to be a good outside bet for the CL now
Yup. Been saying this since the news broke. Our biggest issue has been breaking teams down. With Bailly to return and Shaw looking better by the game, I feel we will be solid at the back (under Mou, at that). It was always the attack that needed some more bite and Alexis brings that.

Yeah, "anyone could"...which is presumably why we're the ones that landed him...without a battle, eh?

We are doing that, and Matic was the only player beyond defence who was over-25. It’s quite a young, inexperienced, squad we have.

It's still a remarkable signing for a player like this in a January window. He can play in the champions league, and most of the fee will be generated by selling player we no longer want.

How dare you disrespect the transfer God! Di Marzio has been excellent right through this saga. First one to report our interest in Sanchez and suggest Mkhi could be going the other way and the first to report on Raiola being in London.

Yeah he was. I think he's trying to string out his knowledge a bit now though. We all know it could happen any day now and he's tweeting something every day that hints this could be the day. I don't think he actually knows...the players and clubs probably don't know for sure until it's down to paperwork and in their control.

£180m over the course of the deal for a good player, but not a great player who is nearly 30 is the exact opposite of money well spent. Crazy.

No pics of either player today so we get a clue as to where they are and if they are getting ready to travel with there clubs, eg Micky with utd and Sanchez with the arsenal squad?

Throwing crazy money? You miss the whole beaty of this transfer, as it’s an exchange of players. Someone made an accounting analysis that the net difference between keeping Mhiki (29) or exchanging him for Sanchez (also 29) will be £15m extra expense per year. For a club with United’s revenue, that’s a drop in the bucket.

You can guarantee it would happen though if we bought Bale. Or would you expect him to take a different number?

No way woody would miss a trick giving the new star Welshman number 11

I doubt many United fans would like that.

Martial is one of our most promising players and has really started to show some star quality. Bale has had his chance to come here, he could have been a legend, but he chose Madrid which is fair enough of thats what he wanted. We should move on. As a 22 year old, Martial has the talent to equal Bale (whether he does or not is a different story).

Both Arsenal and us can always announce a done dealio subject to medical, so doesn't really matter where both players are for now

Er eh y llan if si sixe, la.

Except he hasn't tweeted much on it anymore for a few days though? It's been the english journos who have been hinting everyday might be sanchez day. Di Marzio has kept quiet lately when he had nothing.
