Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

The obsession with the age of players has always amused me. Our starting 11 consists of plenty of youngsters anyway. Martial, Lukaku, Lingard, Rashford, Pogba, Shaw, Bailly, Jones (25), Lindelof and De Gea (edit, De Gea is 27 - but that's young for a world class keeper) are all under 25 years old and look to be a big part of our future. Sanchez is one of the best players in the world and in the prime of his career, and we're adding him to an already talented crop of young players.

You need veteran experience and guile mixed in with youth. Sanchez is probably the most sure-thing you can get in the Prem outside of KdB and Hazard.

Nice day to start my new job at Mcr Airport today, will keep my eyes peeled for internal flights but as yet no press or media are here

Don’t get yourself sacked from your new job because of Alexis Sanchez!

Ed Woodward is damn genius. By getting Sanchez for FREE. ( Yes free , since when anyone adding agent fee , wage bla3x to transfer fee before? )

We are getting top EPL proven attacker, effectively stopping us from spending +100-150m for the likes of griezmann , dybala ( not proven in epl ) , bale , ronaldo etc and at the same time getting rid of our 150k dead wood

This was posted in the Sky stories about would he get in the City team.

Sir Alex Ferguson was a coward. He ran
away when he realized that he cannot
compete with man city. He knew that he can no longer compete with man city spending power and dominance in terms of attracting the best players, so he ran away

I dont think he quite got the response he wanted , even City fans told him to he was posting bollocks.

Sanchez is a very good player but I am sick and tired of signing players older than 25. Sign for the future. Build it up like Sir Matt and Sir Alex. Learn how to get success from the past and sign Pulisic, Dybala and a Robson/Keane midfielder. Get Tuanzebe in the team and bring back TFM. LUHG

Dear me...

How was the night watch you aussies? :boring:
I'm predicting a 1-0 win today, City to drop points, Sanchez to be announced 8 PM today.
Only 2 daily posts remaining, they better hurry up.

WOW you sound like some of the so called experts on Facebook, is this just a wind up ?

If we swap him directly for Mkhi that's almost better than free as Mkhi is almost worthless to us now (can't get in the team) and we're saving on his wages!

This is real world; not FIFA or FM. Teams need a combination of youth AND experience. Our starting eleven has only three players 27+ and none over 30. We actually need a few more older players in the team.

I agree that Tuanzebe should start getting some games but TFM isn’t ready to push for a first team spot yet. Regardless, both are defenders and don’t affect the Sanchez signing in any way.

Best part of signing a 29 year old Sanchez and possibly giving him the number 7 shirt is that we won’t be doing any crazy moves for Bale or for CR7.

Possibly rules out Griezman for £100 million as well.

The way this place go on and on about youth you'd almost forget that SAF signed Blanc after selling Stam and would have signed Larsson on a longer deal had it been possible. Two verified oldies actually past their peak, not a 29 year old who just came off his most productive season.

This is a genius transfer by the club, imo. Credit where it's due.

Absolutely! You can sense how salty Guardiola/City are when speaking about how Sanchez' wages would "destabilize" the club

Matic, Valencia (in the 30+ category), De Gea, Mata (Sanchez when he comes in), possibly Young (in the 30+ category again) if he starts today. I agree with you on the whole though but we're on 4 or 5 players aged 27+ in starting XI.

I keep logging on to hopefully see about 15 tweets all confirming it’s done but there’s just nothing, it’s a slow burnt out ‘saga’ that’s fecking frustrating!

It feels like it’s getting nowhere.

I hope we see some action today. With Raiola involved, everything is taking to much time.

We've been incredibly spoilt the last few years... Signing players like Pogba, Zlatan, Mata, Sanchez, Di Maria, Mkhitarian etc. Who all at the time looked or look as world class players.

Age is good in a squad. All I have to say is Teddy Sheringham. Without him we don't have the treble. Mic drop.

Even still, Sanchez is not even old yet!!! He has just turned 29 for christ sake.
