100%. I love the take that city's taken the moral high ground like they have never waved a load of cash 11:59 to buy a player.

That's the most hilarious part for me, that City are being portrayed to have taken the moral high ground, after a decade of flashing the most money in football at players to convince them to sign. The pathetic media can feck off tbh.

No issues, it's all about timing with big transfers. Sponsors especially adidas will want their pound of flesh too.

Haha I had to go back and look at that, I didn't notice those pictures before

Here’s me and DDG in the tunnel the day I signed. Great lad.

Here’s me 100 yards away getting a sausage roll from Greggs. You can just see my head behind the lassie in the City shellsuit.

Highest paid club manager in the world, too.

Not sure it would be tapping up as seemingly the deal in the summer was going ahead until Arsenal couldn’t land Lemar. So in that time period I’d imagine Arsenal would have allowed City/Pep to be in discussions with Sanchez and his agent.

I'm sure if City offered more they'd have got him in the summer.

I'm also not sure tapping up is really a thing but if at any point it would have been since the summer where they tried to incentivse Sanchez to screw Arsenal.

Nobody seriously thinks he's going to play against Burnley, surely?

Of course not he'll be too busy joining the Nazis, stealing from old grannies and killing puppies.

We've signed a monster :(

I think there's something at Mkhitaryan end which is holding this deal up, probably Raiola trying to get a bigger wage packet from Arsenal. Bit skeptical about an announcement today tbh.

How quick are you two! @Maradona10 @VanGaalEra

Lol at the desk at work and was going through twitter and this thread is always open in another window.

There are obviously issues with the deal as its gone 24hrs since wenger said this. He also said he could pick him to play for arsenal again so will be interesting if he actually picks him tomorrow as this deal wont be completed today. I can see this rolling on into next week
Couldn’t we have already wrapped it up in the last 24 hours and are just waiting to announce it?

Exactly! It's as if he would be going to play for City for tuppence

Media has gone crazy. It seems we don't have a right to get any player City want to. Oh and Sanchez is a turncoat.
How?

When Sigurdsson costs £45M and Sanchez is available for a drop worthy Mikhi

Him and Pep became Blood brothers in the summer, they even made friendship bracelets for each other.

You CAN'T go back on a friendship bracelet

Maybe the deal is finalized and they are already registered, but for some reason they're still waiting with announcement(s).

Well, at least I'm hoping so. :wenger:

It's our new Sponsorship Deal with JJ Abrams as our official film director...

If JJ Abrams is involved it will involve a "reboot" of a previously successful franchise following the exact same plot...

So I'll go for a re-run of 1995/96 when we won the league from being 12 points behind a Newcastle side that was the media darling of the day.

It could'nt happen!

..........Could it?

Thought we peaked yesterday. But then you get this

Neil Ashton is a right prat, isn't he the one who hosts Sunday Supplement? He's such a smug git. Supports Crystal Palace too I think so doesn't need a reason to stick the boot into United.

It's pure sensationalist journalism that's just trying to get people frothing at the mouth. Let's not lower ourselves to the level of the Sun's average readership.

Does it really matter if he’s available for Burnley or not? We should have enough. The game isn’t even on TV is it? Maybe Sky want to show his debut..

I dont understand, unless they are City fans why some of these journos seem so salty over all this.

I understand sensationalism, because that generates clicks or sells papers. So i get the inflated fees and what not

but some of these journos its like Sanchez has taken a dump on their dogs.

A fair few of them, Neil Ashton included, have been made to look like complete idiots after saying this deal could/would never happen:

Ashton is just embarrassed, as well he should be.

Are you suggesting that the deal is being delayed because sky want to show his debut?

Ok just to pass the time and play devils advocate, why do you guys think Alexis rejected city?

Do you guys really think it's because he wanted to play for us over them? Of course Money has a big part to play!

In my opinion, when United came in he thought "ok this is interesting... I would not mind playing for UTD!". Then it came down to money. At best, Money was the tie breaker between us and city. He didn't choose us because we're Manchester United and are a bigger club than City. Let's be honest.

The media is clearly oversimplifying it to push their agenda that Sanchez is only going to UTD for the money. Which is incredibly disrespectful to our history, prestige and brand. It's not like he's going China! But some of you here are suggesting that as soon as he heard of our interest, he told city to feck off because United is the only place he wants to go!

City got their panties in a punch when they realised Alexis would have no problem to play for us. So refused to up their offer
