Why the feck is the picture such low quality? To match the level of his journalistic integrity?

Where does he say he's a journalist?

Regardless, I've yet to see anyone explain how a supposed know-nothing nobody got the first interview with Lukaku, got to hang out with the club on tour, how he's worked for years on the radio, how his podcast got snapped up by NBC, etc. It's not like he's some IndyKaila that works at KFC

Not this again. It's not the thread for it. Pilib de Brun is a Man Utd fan who sometimes gets an interview with a player or two.

He isn't a reputable source.

This whole bidding for PR is the biggest myth in football.
I don't think so, especially when it comes to monsieur Wenger  Remember all the times he said he nearly signed players who then went on to do great things at other clubs?

But surely they'd also know that we have no financial compulsion to sell Martial so abruptly in the middle of the season? With another attacking player (Mikhitaryan) already a write-off too.

I mean, it was worth a try on their part. But I'm sure they had zero conviction on it.
Maybe not. But even as a long shot, why not? It hasnt hurt their chance of the deal being done has it? So again, no harm in trying. I just don't understand people's indignation at Arsenal trying it on, that's all.

That's more anecdotal than at the time though so that isn't relevant. Does a fan take any comfort in bidding for a player and missing out? If anything that annoys me more.

He's reputable enough to interview Pogba and Lukaku. He is a reputable source.

I agree, no harm in trying. I'm sure it wasn't even a retaliatory bid to scare us off. They're desperate for adequate replacements to save their season.

Fair point now that I think about it!

Hazard, de Bruyne, Neymar, Kane, Mbappe?...
Nope. They are all great players but I wouldn't have any of them over Martial. He has the potential to win the Ballon Dor in my view. We haven't seen the best of him yet and that's why I wouldn't take anyone over him if he's on form.

History has shown that a lot can change. Lot of people even saw Guardiola as a fraud after last season. And my favourite, Chelsea looking invincible for the foreseeable future after signing both Ballack and Schevchenko on the back of two title-winning seasons.

Id honestly love to see you proved right but I honestly cant see anyone else come close right now.

The only player in the world I would swap Martial for is Messi. That's how highly I rate him. Arsenal can forget about getting him and should focus on other targets.

Neymar Griezmann Dybala Mbappe Bale Dembele and Sane all better in my opinion.

Crikey o Riley, I’d take all those players over Martial in the blink of an eye, especially Neymar.

Said this in another thread, Alexis joined Barcelona in 2011, look how that turned out for him

Balague has interviewed the entire playing roster of La Liga yet he's called Ballbag for a reason.

Repeating the line of martial move being knocked back by united and now mkhi is being involved, also maybe some young players?

I hope its not gomez or tuanzebe. It is such a complex deal.

He's not even a source, let alone a reputable one!

Listen he doesn't post about transfers to get clicks. If he has information from the contacts at the club (which he crystal clearly does) he passes the info on. Don't believe if you don't want to but how do you think he got to interview Pogba and Lukaku?

He said the deal was done yesterday.

MUTV now talking about sanchez and what he could bring to United......

SkySport Italy: United ahead but deal not done yet, City still with a chance to turn the tables(depends on them matching united's offer to the player first)

Of course that could happen, just that history has shown a lot can change from one season to another. Even from last year when everything was all rosy at Chelsea. How many saw an end to Chelsea's reign after their first two titles under Mourinho?

He also broke Di Maria to United. Proof positive that blanketly deciding who is and isn't a "reputable source" as fans is fecking stupid. Because we don't have a clue about the contacts these lads actually have. Ballague doesn't have contacts in United and why should he? But he does in certain Spanish teams.

There's loads of 2 bit journalists who get to interview players but never get anything right about transfers. Anyhow, we'll not convince each other otherwise, so let's move on.

I don't understand why people are getting scared ... Arsenal has ZERO leverage in this deal. We can even pull this transfer off without losing Michki. They can stand firm and lose 30mil that's their choice - it will be nice to get Sanchez now tho.

Martial has potential to win ballon dor but Neymar doesn’t?

Look even Mkhi doesn’t want to go to Arse. Zero chance of Martial saying yes even if hypothetically Jose decides to beahave like an idiot.

Fair one.

It's stupid IMO. Just like their turning down of £60m city bid in the summer

They turned it down cause they didn't get a replacement in time. I don't think the fans would have been happy with them selling another top player for nothing in return. It was quite clear that's the problem they were trying to avoid.
