It's the Rooney experiment all over again. He has never played there in his career

It has little to do with the number, we've just given it to the wrong players over and over again since Ronaldo left.Curse of the #7 shirt strikes again. Retire the shirt for god sakes.
Isn't that pretty much the Rooney dilemma all over again? Instead of trying to make him work in different positions he may or may not adapt to, on massive wages for years on end, I'd rather we accept defeat and cut our ties in the summer, provided things don't change soon (and signifcantly at that).
We should look to a reasonably priced backup for Pogba instead of trying to fit Alexis in somehow, while investing Sanchez' wages into De Gea and a forward signing that deserves the money. No way would I want to see such a wasteful player trying to do a job in midfield for us. Rooneys last years should have taught us a valuable lesson.
His movements are not the problem. The issue is when he has the ball at his feet. He can't beat a man, can't cross, can't even pass the ball properly.I think if played consistently he will pick up form. His movements get neglected at times.
He wasn't the best attacking player in the league. He was having a down season for Arsenal when we bought him.Agreed and i think China is our best hope since they are the only ones willing to match his insane wages. I see a lot of people blame Woody for this transfer, but despite all his feck ups this is one we cant pin on him. When we bought him he was the best attacking player in the league and this place was buzzing over the news. No one knew he would turn to shit overnight.
Is Sanchez a better option as Rashford’s back up and leave Rom as a right wing back up ?
Somehow, he just doesnt fit in. He was not as poor as others say yesterday, but on the ball, he's always out of sync with the rest it seems
This feels like the Rooney discussion all over again.
“We just need to play him in x,y,z position”
“There’s still a quality player in there, he just needs games to show it”
After having gone through this with our all time top scorer, you would think our fanbase would recognize when a player is done, and not cling to some hope that he just needs [insert thing here] to become the player he was.

His legs look so heavy. Its like he finds it so hard to do the basics.
I think Fred would even look better in the postion Sanchez plays.
