As I said, he was better down the middle during pre season, and should either start there or start on the bench.

Another promising performance. Worked his arse off. Still got more to give going forward, and I truly believe it we give him a run of games, he'll start scoring.

Pretty good linkup play. Now needs to add the goals then he'll be our striker.

Did well. Glad to be able to say that about Sanchez. Give him a run of 5 more games uptop. It's nice to have someone technically sound in that position. Obviously he needs to start scoring as well but at least the general play isn't/wasn't poor. Good stuff.

He was very good last night. Don't forget he was up against 2 very established and physically strong defenders. He isn't scared of anyone when he has the ball. I think this one probably my favourite performance of his in a United shirt for me so far.

Play like this and the goals will come IMO. Been very good.

Loved his work last night and you could see he had them worried, think he would have probably had more luck if Martial and Lingard had joined in more with him but they seemed to be holding position more which is understandable.
His ability to hold the ball and beat a person and bring people in was mightily impressive and I loved some of the earlier work of he, Pogba, Martial and Shaw just controlling and working the ball around. I feel like we have to play this team (replace Lingard) against some cannon fodder and hopefully they will rack up the goals so Sanchez’s confidence is up.

Imo we would have been up there in the league still if we played him as a striker from the beginning of the season, it was painfully obvious we needed him up top but it required a totally out of form (and injured) Lukaku for Jose to come his senses. Oh well.

Great performance last night in difficult circumstances. He’s a central striker, not a wide player. Great to see him finally picked in his correct position

I was happy for him to go in January but I'm starting to think our best team involves him playing CF with Mata, Martial and either Rashford or Lingard behind him.

Let down by players around him tonight. Both Martial and Pogba were below par and didn't play him in on a few occasions.

He has to continue to play in this position. His work rate and movement is excellent. Lukaku shouldn't just walk back into this team when he's fit.

Agree, time to earn it, or move to a small club where he can be the big man regardless of performances and form. This works both ways too, Sanchez should have to keep giving match winning performances to deserve that spot.

I think he is more of a central forward, not a pure striker. He lives and breaths to attack deep from the middle.

Really liked his performance last night especially since you are up against a brilliant/horrible CB in Chiellini. Praying now that the penny has dropped for Jose and it is Sanchez central from now on and not on the left where he just doesn't fit.He had one moment in the first half where he drifted out to the left and did one of his speculative hollywood passes into the centre which was obviously intercepted,

Sanchez at last playing where he needs to and doing well. When Lukaku is back, let him sit on the bench or even start wide like he does sometimes for Belgium.

Yep. Sanchez should be our main striker now. He contributes so much more to the team than Lukaku. The big man needs to sit out for a bit and slowly play his way back into form.

I remeber once when sanchez had a conversation with wenger he told him he is not a striker who is gonna score 20 plus goals every season.

I'm really hoping he bags goals against city as our No.9. Unless he's scoring, I doubt Jose will be entirely convinced to play him up top ahead of Lukaku.

We can all see how much better he looks there and more importantly how much we as a team look better. I've never once believed Alexis is finished, he's just no longer suited to the wide role.

We really need to get him scoring. He should be getting 10-15 goals in the league for us.

We became overly reliant on Lukaku for goals, and when they dried up, our overall goals scored inevitably dried up too.

We are lucky that Martial seems to be in goalscoring form of late, but he is going to dip in form at some point, and there isn't really anyone else who is a goal scorer.

I think most people have said it, the role up top suits him. Id like to see him score a goal or two to really get going in that position. Some of the chances Lukaku has had this season, id like to see Sanchez get similar ones in coming games.

Game up top to Juve is a tough one to ensure a goal against. Same will be the case at the Ethiad. But his overall play is way better than Lukakus.

Hope it's a change that goes beyond Sunday tbh. Jose shouldn't tinker with putting Lukaku back.

A solid strike partnership with a solid cb partnership works great.

The man has received a lot of criticism in a United shirt and there is/has been a lot of pressure on him to succeed at United. Saying that, he has been fantastic the last few games.

I liked Sanchez up top last night.. good touches and good movement. has the rest of the attack moving quite quick around him

Why's everyone shocked man?

He's a striker.

He played wide for Barca and Arsenal under Wenger because in the teams he was playing as a wide striker.

What would you with people like Aguero, Tevez, Suarez in our set up? It'd be up front no?

His vision, his movements and his touches are way much better than Lukaku''s.
Let him play as CF and Rashford on the right.

Im glad of his display as a CF

If he adds goals to his performance could really be a turn over of our season

I hope Mou keeps him up front

im not feeling anxiety when the ball gets played into him, as I know his second touch won't be a tackle. When Lukuka is up top, half of my stress is when he gets the ball, hoping he can control it then make a simple pass. This is not how I want to feel when I watch Utd, I get that feeling watching my son play on Saturday mornings.
