They can't all be flops, though, surely?

He was very good at Arsenal. Even on his bad days, where he would lose the ball often, he'd always contribute something. Not contributing at all at United.

That said, his performances are like night and day when you compare them to how he was doing in pre season, and I strongly believe that's because he's not playing down the middle.

That's because pre season is lower level than friendly games. Fletcher was by far our best player few years ago during pre season when he had problems with his fitness/ilness, and finished at WBA that season, he couldn't keep up after two games in premiership. Pre season form means feck all.

There's two possible reasons for his poor form:
a) he is simply not even close to the player he was - more likely considering it's quite obvious he is not at his best when you look at his pace and explosivness, it's not at that level it used to be
b) Mourinho doesn't know how to get the best out of him - less likely considering he hardly had any good games for us even during rare moments when the team played well.

I didn't watch the game so I can't comment fairly but from the sounds of things, people's patience is running out? At what point does Jose run out of patience? Is there any hope he will come good

Lukaku doesn't look better on the right wing, 27 goals last season, I'd take that over anything Sanchez is producing. I'm saying this as someone who isn't even Lukakus biggest fan.

Sanchez need to sit on the bench

And Sanchez scored 24 from the wing the season before. Things change. Sanchez has more chance of doing something down the middle than Lukaku at the moment and can at least control a ball. And he moves to boot. Lukaku can do more on the wing than anyone else that plays there.

China will probably only the place to him such wages.

Rooney situation vol 2, but Rooney was actually somewhat more useful.

Rooney gave us fantastic years before his eventual decline.

Sanchez gave us dog photos and playing the piano?

The same Lukaku who has 4 goals in 5 games this season. Sanchez is losing the ball often, he shouldn't be in the team.

I agree Lukaku hasn't been great but why put a worse player in his place just because of his name?

Sanchez on the bench

Maybe its not the flops we're buying. Maybe its the managers we're hiring? No excusing these horrendous individual performances, but how many players have looked half the player they are under Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho? Its beyond a joke.

Another game that passed him by. It’s quite worrying. He did seem to be getting into the game more leading up to his substitution but he hasn’t been in good form for a year now. It’s beginning to look like more than a blip.

He's absolutely rubbish, not got a clue what happened to him but he's barely had a good game for us since arriving.

I keep seeing Martial, Rashford and even Mata out of the side why is this waste of space getting picked almost every week?

He has become a parody of himself. It's actually quite sad to see how rubbish he has become. At present one of our worst buys in many a year but I don't think any thought he would be this poor. He will still start next league game though with fellow Jose faves Lingard, Fellaini, Lukaku and Valencia.

Not just going off his name but his game. I think he'd be better there, for now at least anyway. It couldn't do much harm to try it.

Regardless of the tactics hes been shite, even Martial who gets tons of abuse and was getting it before Sanchez arrived has looked better than him in the same tactical setup

Ok, "Martial has looked better". But I am going to ask this question? What result he gave us by just looking better? We looked more better than this with Lvg than in these mourinho years since last season.

Reguadless of if it's Sanchez , Martial or Rashford, none of them can get into goal scoring positions. We played martial there for entire game vs Brighton and he too achived nothing.

I am going to call spade a spade, The players can not play with these awful long ball to lukaku's head and flick to pick second balls stuff and having to defend at the same time.

You can put in Ronaldo or Messi in that position or even Hazard, the result will not be better. Each and every player looks better for their international team, which should be an indication itself, that the managers tactics are holding us back big time. Our rivals are scoring goals freely, we look so laboured to score more than a goal in Epl with proven players at other clubs.

I am not entirely sure though. Thing with Sanchez is, he loses the ball a lot and has clearly declined even more to make his weaknesses greater liabilities. In such circumstances, he is at that stage where he needs coaching to adapt to his decline and still continue to be productive. Mourinho clearly bought him as he is proven and could simply conjure up moments of magic, but older players also need some coaching in attack to adapt to their age.

In some phases of play, he showcases quick one touch passing and decision making that's more reminiscent of the old Sanchez. But these are very minimal in duration. If we get an attacking manager who doesn't make him undroppable and who coaches him properly, I am sure he can still be of some use.

Sanchez for Arsenal:
16/17: 3900 minutes, 27 goals, 13 assists
17:/18: 1600minutes, 8 goals, 3 assists
Per 90 minutes: 0.7 goals, 0.3 assists

Sanchez for United:
17/18: 1200 minutes, 2 goals, 3 assists
18/19*: 340 minutes, 1 assist
Per 90 minutes: 0.1 goals, 0.2 assists

A very expensive mistake. Think we need to try him in Lukaku's or better yet, Lingard's position. See if it makes a difference.

Getting deja vu 'Rooney at the end' vibes from him. If he doesn't improve, how on earth are we gonna get rid of him with this crazy contract? Even giving him away for free, we might still be liable for some of his salary depending on how the contract is set up.

Gotta hand it to Arsene, he gave us one hell of a leaving present:lol:

I must say that I’m amazed that a guy who was happy to sack it off in his last season at Arsenal has found it hard to just flick the switch and come back into form.
Which begs the question, was he really downing tools or was he just transforming into a worse player ? I think, no matter his intentions, he just wasn't the same anymore

Yup. It's very simple - people say we use three forwards & that is far from the truth. We use one forward until Fellaini gets up with every one else supplying from deep.

Not sure I agree. Sanchez has had 13 shots on target from 28 shots in 1381mins for United in the PL with 2 goals. That's a goal every 690mins, a conversion rate of 7.1%. His conversion rate at Arsenal wasn't exactly good, he was just taking on lots of shots.

Absolute shit house at the moment, sick of seeing him at this stage. Shame because he was so good.

I think he'd suit our style better up top than Lukaku though. Not saying it'd be anything special, just maybe a tiny bit better than what we're seeing.

Martial had 11 goals and 11 assists by Jan last season. His output is much better than Sanchez in the subsequent 6 months.. Last season Rashford scored 13.
We look better as a team without Sanchez.

Sanchez got the excuse last season of needing to settle in, hes had the summer off no excuses now.

That doesn't mean I don't agree that the system and how we play itself is broken, but the simple fact is we looked and were doing better before we signed Sanchez.

I would like a new manager tbh, but whilst Jose is here, its clear as day to me that right now Sanchez needs to be dropped for a few games and someone else given a run.

I'm no Sanchez fan, far from it, but I do have some sympathy for him, and the other attacking players, today, as our slow tempo means they rarely saw the ball, and when they did, Wolves were set in defensive formation.

Having said that, a very ordinary player, earning less than 1/4 of Sanchez's salary, would expect to contribute more than he has done so far.

Well discussion over then. A 29 year old in the prime of his life with a track record of being one of the top players in the Premiership, must be shite all of a sudden.

He's been pants but the direction he's getting from Jose could be just as harmful, something of which the Chilean coach recently commented on.

Also,we all know Pep would've continually gotten the best out of him.Feel Pep's philosophy and intense regimented management with regards to his offensive set up would've fitted well with Sanchez's mentality.

Overall I feel Sanchez made a good financial decision in joining us but a rubbish footballing one.

Not sure that subbing him for Mata or someone else after 65 mins every week is going to help. I’m getting inpatient, but I sure as hell don’t think that Mata is going to be a better option at this stage of their careers.

I think he'd suit our style better up top than Lukaku though. Not saying it'd be anything special, just maybe a tiny bit better than what we're seeing.

Our main attacking threat comes from Lukaku. Without him we'd be even worse. Granted he's had a terrible game today and he does miss sitters at times but he's the only one who carries a consistent goal threat. Sanchez is struggling big time with our style of play (or lack of). The real issue at United is that we're piss simple to defend against because we only ever attack from 2 areas. The Left (majority of the time) and the middle. The issue comes from our strategy and changing players around won't fix anything until we have a radical change in our attacking tactics.

If we were thinking of changing personal, just give Martial a run of games and see if he can get back to pre Sanchez form.

Usually with us for a few years now. How many transfer windows have we brought in a bunch of different players now?

I don't know the exact amount, but we've certainly wasted a LOT of money since SAF retired.

Unfortunately Sanchez is one too.

He had some good moments. I like that his passes and crosses are deliberate and direct, meaning he has an idea and a target, doesn't just punt it hopefully like others. I often feel like he's let down by someone else - he's doing the right things, seemingly, but nothing comes out of it. If I think that multiple times every game though it's likely that the problem lies with him, to some extent. He needs to be more effective.

Martial has 11 goals and 11 assists by Jan last season. His output is much better than Sanchez.

He looked better when we played decent football in the first 3 months last year with Matic arriving Bang on form and us playing some decent stuff, since January this year after the Tottenham defeat at Wembely all we do is play long balls after long balls and have been incredibly negative with our approach and poor as a result and Martial is not the same as well. Sarri is playing way better than us with Kante and Jorginho like players who gave up the opportunity to play for us because of Mourinho's methods and getting the best out of Hazard, while Sanchez and hazard both were on similar levels few years ago until he came here.

We can put martial or even Rashford, none of them will have any good games with These long ball tactics let alone Sanchez.
