Might seem a weird comparison, but he kind of reminds me of a young Rooney with that energy.

Not weird at all, decent comparison. Has a touch of Best as well with the low centre of gravity and jinky style of dribbling. Love the guy.

This guy works real hard for the team, it's great to watch. Plus he's got the balls to try things instead of playing it safe by passing backwards.

Draws a lot of fouls too.

Felt for him in the first half. Only one really threatening and other than Lingard the only one really trying to hurt them. Deserved his goal in the end and could have ended with more but they will come.

The quality in his movement with and without the ball is at another level - The way he can receive the ball and instantly beat his man with confidence - It's something that's just a step above where Martial or Rashford are right now. I think we need to get him close to Pogba on the pitch - They're the two who can really make things happen for us.

This guy is the real deal. Throughly deserves the #7 shirt

Played his part, then some and then some more in a poorly coached attacking team. Superb mentality.

Not more you can ask for.

Hope we can just build the platform to fecking release Pogba and Alexis as the fulcrum of our team.

Form is temporary and class is permanent. I've praised Lingard in his own thread but him and Mata should have no say getting in the first team if we want to build for the future.

This picking players on form, changing system every game and no clear playing style is just shite.

The amount of tackles hes taken on him. What a scary player he is. Hope the others around him get inspired and give a similar effort like he does.

That's the player I expected when we get him.

The game was in its dying minutes and he just didn't stop sprinting forward, dribbling and trying to do something even though the opponents were playing dirty on him. He seems to start forming combination with our other attackers. My MOTM easily.

Should never take penalties again though. :D

Brings urgency and penetration into a side that is prone to a pedestrian style of play.
Can lift the team to a different level.

It's been a long time since we had a player who can get past defenders so easily.

Ref was rubbish today, let them get away with a lot

Saw someone say it earlier but he really can turn on a penny, he's a very good player.

His brain is a step ahead of everyone, including our own players at times.

Great stuff. Just wish he played with a better coached team. He would be unstoppable. Why couldn't we get him in 2011.. we could have another era of dominance.

Great player, MOTM.

Desperately need to surround him with attacking players of his quality.

What a player!

Would be very interesting to see stats on average fouls made against us this season v/s this game. it feels like Sanchez alone was fouled 10+ times.

I’ve always been a great fan of Sanchez. Remember how he lifted his Chile from average to world class in the WC. I love his attitude, smartness and magic touch. Maybe a bit of a diver sometimes, but I think that’s because he’s playing so aggressively. Today he’s really acting as a playmaker and his passing is top notch.

Can’t help thinking, however, that his entrance will be bad for the two best players so far this season: Martial and Lindgaard.

This needs to stop. Years after Lindegaard left us I’m still seeing this!

Was a joy to watch at times today. Really involved in everything and his play was so satisfying. Was annoyed when it looked like he was going to get substituted, but thankfully the decision was changed. Says a lot that he missed his penalty and no one is complaining. Easily MOTM.

I don't think I've ever seen a United player get fouled so much as he was today. Certainly not recently. Probably a sign he's doing the right things, but still it was ridiculous. I'd love to see some stats on how much he was fouled today.

Fantastic player. Still i would prefer him on no10 position. He is fantastic on lw but on that way we can have martial and mata with him in attacking positions

If the match was 10 minutes longer, few opponents would see a red. Absolutely untouchable, kinda artist of football.

If this match showed us anything, is that Lingard shouldn't be ahead of anyone.

Told you. The most dirtiest team we've played this season.

Great performance, but I'm afraid he'll get quickly injured. Opposition made at least 10 agressive fouls on him.

Impressed with his passing today. He also has an incredibly tight turning radius.

Told you. The most dirtiest team we've played this season.

They were awful, I like how we didn't let them get under our skin, we gave as good as we got (nearly) and outclassed them. We came to play football, they came to play rugby.

Reminds me a bit of 06-08 Tevez. Gets stuck in, fights for every ball, plays his way into a great performance and is quality.
