Alexander Sørloth

So, how many of Trabzonspor´s games have you watched this season? Be honest now.

Leipzig is about to make him their most expensive signing ever, but hey, maybe they haven´t seen him play either.

About 5. And he has been good in those games. But the league is way way behind premier league.

Let RB have him

This is probably the worst thing I've read on here for the past week and that's saying a lot. There's a reason one of them is about to become the main man up top for the CL semifinalists who have the most promising young manager around, while the other has spent his whole prime in China.

The league in China is not far behind the turkish one. Which is utter crap compared to the premier league.

I stand by what I said.

Name sounds like he is Sauron’s uncle. I will have him only for that reason. We lack players with dangerous sounding names.

Trying to think of a dangerous sounding first 11 now ffs.

Kahn
Corona Blind Stam Fuchs

Hannibal Keane Butt

Windass

Ok I give up.

This should be its own thread.

You should also do one for heroic names. Hulk would definitely be on the list.

I like his surname. He sounds like he should be one of the Outer Gods in the Lovecraft Cthulhu Mythos.
He sounds like an old school Bond villain.
He is the son of former professional footballer Gøran Sørloth. If I'm not completely incorrect his family name means something in the direction of "Sør" (South) and "Lot" which possibly means "to let" or "left" or something. So Gøran, the one who left the south, or alternatively The one who let the south go.
Either way, it's pronounced somewhere in the direction of: Sir-lott.

Our version of Downing + Carroll

You're joking but this is closer to the truth then most people want to think.

Most of us are like frogs in a pot of boiling water. United are becoming irrelevant before our eyes, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Why are Trabzonspor getting a fee, don't Palace own him?
Yep Palace own him, he's just got confused It seems. Unless they had an agreement to buy him after the loan but I haven't seen anything like that.

It was a two year loan deal with an obligation to buy for 6m if he played 50 % of the games at the end of the second year. Trabz wanted to buy him in this window (still a year left on the loan) and sell him straight away for a big profit (Trabz didn't have 6m so would have been reliant on selling him straight away). But Palace obviously wouldn't agree to that since they'd only be getting 6m of the 22m. So they seemingly met in the middle and agreed on both clubs getting 50 % of the fee.

I think in official terms he will be moving from Trabz. But this has been the most confusing transfer ever so who even knows at this stage.

Makes sense thanks.

Trabzonspor president just said they agreed a fee with Leipzig & also agreed to share all the proceeds of sale in half with Crystal Palace. These are the details:

1. RB Leigzig will pay 20m euros to Trabzonspor.

2. 2m in bonuses will be paid depending on the number of appearance.

3. Trabzonspor will get the 20% of profit from the next sale.

4. If the player transfers back to Turkey, Trabzonspor will have the right of pre-emption.

5. All the returns of this deal will be shared in half with Crystal Palace.

So, both Palace & Trabzonspor will get 10m euros(+1 in bonus) + 10% of profit from the next sale.

Great use of ø..........

Happy this didnt happen.

I want a plan B but the guy doesnt look like he can control a football well.

The way the OP introduced this guy, I was thinking its one of those hidden gems like Haaland, ready to take over the world.

It turns out this guy is just an ordinary player. We must be linked with players who must improve our first team. We have a few average players in the squad like Lindelof, McTominnay etc. That's enough. More quality is what we need.

I guess it gets some people excited if their fellow country man is linked to United, but the reality is to win trophies we need to beat City or Liverpool and you can only do that by investing in quality players.
