Alexander Sørloth

A fourth choice striker to take over from Ighalo and provide a plan B? I like the idea.

Martial, Rashford and Greenwood are all very similar players who are most comfortable on the edge of the box, receiving the ball to feet and in front of them.

A proper target man would add a different dimension to us off the bench. Ighalo did that for a few games, but he's gone off the boil recently.

No idea about Sorloth himself. But he looks like he might play differently from the players we already have here.

It's hard to be on the boil with a few minutes here and there. Crazy how underused Ighalo has been since extending with us.

He's not close to being good enough. In the Danish league he was good for FC Midtjylland, but he flopped as soon as he came to Crystal Palace. He has played 16 matches for Palace and scored ..... 0 goals. Palace have since loaned him out for 2 seasons and now people think he is good enough for United. It's hard to take seriously, sorry.

Sick and tired of these lazy links. He was abysmal for Palace and then went on to do well in a third rate league. He has developed a lot since his Palace-days and he’s a good man, but he is very far away from being United-material. Don’t mention Håland please, he is not a quarter of the beast the other one is. Stay away.

But also, he has been quite poor whenever coming off the bench. But the fixture list is of course the main explanation, as the group stage in the EL and the early rounds in the domestic cups ended.

Not sure this is a great argument though. Players improve massively. How many goals did Mo Salah score for Chelsea?

For me, this only proves you haven´t seen him play much. I strongly disagree and I think he´ll have a great future.

I have no idea how good he is, but I do trust Red Bull Leipzig on this one, regardless of the experts in here. If they want him he is probably good enough for us too.

Well, videos arent great for judging players, but for what it’s worth, that was one of the worst compilation videos I can recall watching. Not sure which bit stood out more, the bit where he shanked a shot wide at 1:20 or the bit at 1:40 where he gets released for a one on one, only to trip over the ball.

B Tech Haaland?

I call him Erling Poundland.

He did get a few chances for us, notably against Grimsby in the FA Cup, and absolutely stunk the place out. Scored a lot of goals in Turkey but so did Papiss Cisse. I never saw anything in him that made me think he’d reach the top level, fair fecks to him if he does but as long as we turn a profit on him I couldn’t care less.

I don't think it's possible to be more underwhelmed.

According to vg.no Sørloth and agent is in Germany now.

Vg
Seems once again that our name was put in to hike the price or salary.
Anyway if he goes to Rb Leipzig, within a few months, I can see people raving over here about him.
The RB clubs know how to market their players before sell them for a good profit

He was dross at Palace, but maybe he’s come on leaps and bounds in his development since his move to Trabzonspor. He certainly looks better now with them and Norway then he did two years ago. Mind you, playing in Turkey and alongside Haaland in the NT is probably helping him look better. Every pass turns into an assist with that guy.

Name sounds like he is Sauron’s uncle. I will have him only for that reason. We lack players with dangerous sounding names.

Spurs already have a player like that in Kane. It does not make much sense for Sørloth to go there. He could still very well go to Leipzig, but if it´s PL instead, my money is on United.

Id bet all my savings (which isnt much at this moment haha) that we dont sign Sorloth, not in a million years, isnt happening

Mo Salah was already a great prospect playing in CL for Basel, before being coveted by Chelsea and Liverpool. And then Salah moved to Italy on loans to Fiorentina, Roma then permanent, it's sensible step for development. Even Liverpool when Salah joined was not on the expectation of Chelsea Mourinho (challenging for the PL right away). For a Salah, there was countless of Obertan.

In this case, failed at lower mid table PL. It's hard to believe this guy has been doing such astronomically transformation in Turkish League to be ready for a more ambitious PL team.

But Sørloth had 3 season in Palace; 1 season with no goals, and 2 seasons on loan because Palace didnt think they could use him. But now he is good enough for United?

Same could be said for Gnabry. Look where he is now. Mind you I’m not saying Sorloth is as good as Gnabry but just cause one club deem him not good enough doesn’t mean he is terrible.

My mate scored more goals in Belgium than him, may as well sign him while we’re at it.
We did :nervous:

Arsenal isn’t Crystal Palace.

As far as I can see Gnabry never had 2 shit seasons in Eredivisie or a shit season in Belgium either. So the same can’t be said at all.

We struggle to negotiate with one club. Having to negotiate with both Trazbonspor and Crystal Palace is well over our heads.

You know now that you post it, my mate is actually similar to Lukaku in ways. Big, strong, good in the air, has looked chubby at times, has decent turn of pace when he’s fit, and used to regularly take shit touches when we’d play  Let’s get him signed. He was linked to Leeds last month.

Not sure if someone here has actually watch him play other than vs NI.

I can say that I have and he is not premier league quality. Not at all the quality we should be getting. Even has 'back up'

I cant see this happening. Its a Norwegian guy who has done good in Turkey. Since Ole is Norwegian its a easy sell.

Ighalo is a better player. Much better

So, how many of Trabzonspor´s games have you watched this season? Be honest now.

Leipzig is about to make him their most expensive signing ever, but hey, maybe they haven´t seen him play either.

More than 30+ mil (what they paid for Naby)? CP got their money for Brewster then

Forget his time at Arsenal. He couldn’t get a game in for West Brom.

I can imagine in LOTR style if he comes on as a sub during the match: “Release the Sørloth!”

Not all Palace's money. Trazbonspor's option to buy Sorloth comes in once he plays half their games this season, he also cannot be recalled by Palace. The option is for £5.5m.

What about the other 'Plan B' striker we just signed till January? The one that never gets off the bench.

The one we’re paying 150k a week? Enjoying his old Trafford 1 year vacation.

This is probably the worst thing I've read on here for the past week and that's saying a lot. There's a reason one of them is about to become the main man up top for the CL semifinalists who have the most promising young manager around, while the other has spent his whole prime in China.

Why would I forget the time at his actual club? Forget the stupid loan to a relegation side managed by Tony Pulis. It’s completely irrelevant the second you mention Pulis as you know they don’t even play football.

Gnabry hasn’t been shit in the Eredivisie, shit in the Premier League, shit in the Belgian league nor had only one good season in his entire career to date. In fact Gnabry has been great every single season he’s got regular play time. So, no. You can’t say the same for Gnabry at all.
