Agree with all of that.
I wanted United to make a move for him last summer - think he'd be perfect alongside the more defensively conscientious Carrick. Song really struck up a good rapport in that final season at Arsenal with van Persie - he was regularly loading the bullets for him. It's amazing how quickly players' stock can fall following one below par season - I'd say United could do a lot worse if Song is looking to get out of Barca.

Appears that Song will be heading to Napoli on loan, according to Sky Sports. Rumour it is for 2M with an option to buy 8-10M
His performance against Ajax was dreadful. He's been a poor signing IMO.

we could do with him. Put him in his proper position with RVP up top, maybe some major sparks will fly. He is young, premier league proven and available for cheap but he is cup tied.
Wouldn't that mean Barca really lacks squad depth in midfield? What happens if Busquets gets injured?
If Song were going for that price then I think we'd be missing a trick not getting him or at least trying to. Just the sort we could do with and would be a proper box to box player and has a good understanding with RVP.
Moyes can't even get Fellaini to play for Man Utd - he's got no chance with Song.
Do you consider Song a high maintenance player from the manager's point of view?

He was under Wenger I wouldn't trust him to produce any of that form elsewhere.
He wasn't high maintenance in the sense that he was a troublemaker, and is definitely a superior player to Fellaini in almost every respect. Wenger put a lot of time into him though.
His real weakness is positioning.
I think it'll mean Mascherano & Roberto will provide cover and that they will sign a CB in the winter window, finally
Yeah, it was a bad gamble by Tito that never paid off. After the club failed to sign Silva or Javi Martinez, they went to plan C and left with Song. Tip for the future, never go to Plan C, just scrap it and stick to A/B
To be fair he was coming off an excellent season with the gooners. Easily their best player that year. You got him for a pretty low fee as well. Wouldn't mind having a look at him considering our midfield is absolute toss. Can't imagine he would be any worse than Anderson or Fellaini.
I think Van Persie probably had a strong claim for our best player that season. Song wasn't as good for us as he's made out on here. Koscielny and Arteta were probably both better that season as well. 15m was an ok deal for us and a bad one for Barca.
