African Cup of Nations 2021 (played in 2022) | Final: Senegal v Egypt, 7 PM UK time

Real shame for African football when shit like this happens. Farcical.

After 8 substitutions, 2 VAR checks, a goal celebration, and a red card he blew the final whistle at 89:53.

No such thing as Fergie time in Africa ?

Nah he's just a crazy person - gave both sides some very dodgy decisions.
Maybe but blowing twice early is definitely shady as surely after the first time he was told how long there actually is to go and would of made sure he at least got to 90 before doing it again.

That ref is pretty dodgy. Too many weird decisions in that last 10 minutes.

Sky Sports coverage of this also isn't great. Only one commentator and no punditry at FT.

It's shit, they are taking the generic world feed.

BBC coverage was slightly better.

It was 89:42 actually, with Tunisia having the ball. Could easily have scored a goal before 90 minutes was up.

I'll check out some games on the BBC instead. Thanks. Pretty shocking how bad this is on Sky for a big tournament.

This is disappointing. It's nonsense like this that makes Africa lose credibility. And you just know the idiots are going to jump on this, as one of the reasons the AFCON is a joke. Is there not supposed to be a match commissioner to sort out issues like this?

SuperSports live coverage surprisingly isn't much better, with only one commentator. There is a punditry team though, I've seen Okocha and (fabulously dressed) Gyan speak on some post-match panels

100% Considering there were 2 VAR checks a sending off and 5 substitutions in the second half.

Mali had 10 men as well. (Although that was another terrible decision).

Tunisia will definitely feel hard done by.

Yeh BBC had two commentators actually at the venue. They also got the formations etc correct.

Sadly they only have the big games and latter stages

Must be one of the all time worst 2nd half performances by a ref - if not the worst.

Two wrongly awarded penalties, a ridiculous red card and blowing the final whistle at 85 and 89 minutes.... that's got to be hard to beat.

No surprise this competition isn't taken seriously with shit like this. I mean there's levels of incompetence. This ref takes the biscuit.

They’ve called the players back on the pitch to continue the game, 4th official is now the new ref, original ref nowhere to be seen

At least they have post match coverage. For a tournament that we only get every two years, you'd expect the bare minimum of some HT and FT punditry.

Too bad they don't have the rights to show it all. Sky should be giving this the same amount of respect.

This is actually embarrassing.

End the game. Ban the ref, the deed is done. Just bringing more attention to terrible planning/refereeing.

How long will they play? It's got to be at least 6 minutes? Both VAR checks alone took about 3 before you factor in other stoppages.

If there's a goal now there will be scenes

Mali don't want to come back out and play. Don't blame them. The ref did blow for FT

Mali finally back on the pitch, waiting for Tunisia

Ref now blows the final whistle again, as Tunisia have refused to come back out. Game over. Tunisia will go the legal route.
