AFELLAY HEADING FOR PSV EXIT

Holland international Ibrahim Afellay will not sign a new contract with PSV Eindhoven when his current deal expires at the end of the season.

PSV are now likely to cash in on the 24-year-old midfielder, who has spent his whole career to date at PSV, in the January transfer window.

A statement on the Dutch club's website read: "PSV and Ibrahim Afellay have jointly concluded that, for several reasons, it is unrealistic to have his contract extended."

The statement added that "Afellay has pledged to make every effort to ensure he would not leave PSV without a reasonable fee for the club".

The midfielder scored his first international goals with a brace in the 4-1 Euro 2012 qualifying win over Sweden in Amsterdam last week.

So what do the caf scouts reckon ? Good enough to attract the big boys around europe ?

Was just about to put this up

Would be a good signing and would be cheap as well.

Aren't there three threads on this guy? I've mostly only seen him on youtube so naturally he looked good, not sure if he'd interest us but there is clearly some talent there.

I think we need another winger... I am not sure Affelay is the one. I have always thougt of Affelay as a man whom would fit Arsenal. I believe Wenger has tracked him in the past and that is probably a likeley destination. I am not sure he is what we need, but again, there are not that many great left wingers in the world right now, and I think that should be our priority one signing.

Value.

Seriously though, I would have had a look at him if we were looking for good cover, but seeing as we probably need first choice material, I'm not so sure.

Still, Value.

PSV have confirmed they are selling him in the january window, most likely destination is Atletico Madrid according to the Dutch media. He's a talented player who's development has been hampered by injuries.

@rioferdy5 ibrahim afellay for PSV is a greate player... United need them»»I seen him too, he has some silks !

Quality signing if we are really interesed. Left wing option and in my opinion future centre midfielder.

I would like to see him here especially if its a free transfer. And he said United is one of his preferred destinations.

Hope we go for him, i've seen him a couple of times for the dutch national team playing as a winger and he's looked pretty good. I hear he plays on the inside now as an AM which apparently suits his style better as he is very gifted and a good dribbler and passer but not tremendously pacey.

He's also 5'11 apparently which would give him a good chance of falling just outside of our signing attacking midgets policy.

I'm watching parts of the match against Feyenoord and am on goal #6. Affelay has 1 goal and 3 assists so far. He's playing in the midfield and has made some quite good passes. The opposition are woeful, to be fair.

Edit:Can't tell who took the corner, but could be 4 assists. I think he took the FKs.

Rate him, good player. I am still trying to figure out how van der Vaart ended up at Spurs for a measly fee. Should have been our player.

why?

If Fergie rated him he'd took him long ago. Out of Real's rejects the only one that I regret not going for is Sneijder. Robben is too injury prone to my likening and VDV is poorer version of Sneijder.

Afellay would be quality signing. He reminds me of Joe Cole when he was good. Can play through the middle and both flanks. Shoots well, good FK taker(yes we lack this) and good passing range.

For 10m, having in mind his contract runs out he'd be a coup really.

Apart from both flanks this also applies to VDV. He's also a great shot but also a hothead.

Prettu much every player in the world apart from like 5 or 6 are a lesser version of Sneijder.
