The 2024/25 Premier League squad registration deadline is this Saturday 14th of September so if we want to sign him it needs to done by then or we wont be able to register him until January.

I imagine he's probably got an offer he's happy with outside of Europe and he's sounding out clubs in leagues he'd rather go to.
He can be signed at anytime but if he isnt signed before the 14th we wont be able to register him to play in the Premier League until January.

If there's a free space in the 25 man squad after the 14th they can still be signed and registered then to play straight away

It actually shows no sense at all. We have Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno already on high wages. We need to get younger in midfield not older and especially not with a toxic me first personality like Rabiot.

First you know nothing about his personality, and second it's clear we making a stand on his wages so if he signed it would be at a rate we deem feasible.
He would be more useful than Eriksen and Casemiro, and for 2-3 years. Whereas those two are already done.

So our position, which is not to sign Rabiot except on terms which make sense to United, shows no sense at all. But then you say we aren't signing him, presumably because our offer is too low for him, and that's a good thing.
He clearly doesn't need the money since he's willing to sit out football. We don't need a player who has feck all motivation.

How do we know he is willing to sit out though? Its not him making demands its his mum\agent thats doing it and he may well be unhappy that they are pricing out of a move.

Except that hasn’t been the club’s position at all. Everyone is clinging on to garbage links being pushed by the player’s mom. We aren’t signing Rabiot because we are already too old in midfield, have bloated contracts in the position already and most importantly, his personality is not needed in this squad.

He has rejected offers from Turkey for a start - if he was desperate to play, he’d be playing already.
not necessarily true that he is not desperate to play by turning down a move to Turkey....you can equate one with the other as there could be several reasons like he doesn't like the league, doesn't want to live in that country, wants to stay in europe
IF he wants a move bad enough then his mum needs to be more flexible with her demands

Why does everyone think his mum is controlling him? This gets said all the time but I've yet to see evidence of it.
Pretty sure it was well reported during our previous two attempts to sign him, who knows if it's still the case.
