Adrien Rabiot / completing formalities at Juventus

PSG are trying to use him as an example to those thinking of running down their contracts. It's pretty low if you ask me.

It would be a poor example if he then goes on to join Barcelona or something and win loads of honours.

We would be mad to not go for him on a free. Trust in Ole and the coaching staff + our French speaking lads to keep an arm around him. He needs some love. He is desperate to show his class i imagine and going on the pitch again. Bonus points for not getting called up by Deschamps and can be rested during international break.

Focus on other positions with the money, CB, RW and fullback. I know he will cost a fair whack for his wages and signing on fee, but his transfer fee would cost a bomb nowadays. It is a great deal to be made here.

I say go for him and Ndombele. Pogba, Rabiot, Matic, Ndombele, Fred and Herrera as our midfield options. Get rid of Andreas, Mata and send McT on loan.

He can’t be that big of a problem considering how determined PSG seemed on trying to get him to extend. Rabiot would make sense.

People bang on about his attitude, really, Cantona was worse and damaged goods before Fergie took a punt, its what they can bring to the team on the pitch that counts and Rabiot ticks a lot of boxes.

This is obviously important but it's not the only thing we look at to improve our squad. As outlined by Ole yesterday:

Quote from Ole:
"We've got to think about the longevity as well, who's going to fit in personality-wise.

"So, there's so many things that we need to think about."

Our fans watch Herrera play in midfield and have the arrogance to turn their noses up at Rabiot on a free. More ability in his left foot then Herrera does as a player.

To post this after he has a poor game and also without the context of why people don't want Rabiot is poor form.

Herrera has been having a great season, to turn on him after one sub-par game is kinda shitty of you.

It isnt a one game issue, I have said this previously. Herrera might be spanish but he is as far from a spanish midfielder you can get. He has zero passing range. Tom Cairney from Fulham is better on the ball. Enough said.

Shitty, like Herreras technical ability. A great season? 2 goals 3 assists. Running up and down the pitch and occasionally snapping an opposition player doesn't mean you're having a great season. He is a culprit in why we lack creativity. He should cover with Matic at DM and we should sign an actual competent CM. I do not rate Herrera, this is not a 'one game' thing. Our fans watched the likes of Robson, Scholes and Keane and defend Ander Herrera.

More than Herrera, I think Matic needs to go... the guy is simply terrible.... takes way too many touches on the ball, slows down play and kills the tempo. Pereira does not play well as a 6 or an 8.... Sad to say but we lacked having McTominay today in place of Matic. Herrera no doubt had a poor game but antics aside, Rabiot would bring that guile what we need in midfield. He's great at retaining possession and is terrific in releasing our forwards. He would also be a terrific backup for Pogba if he isn't playing the Herrera or Matic role.

I don't want to hear anyone trying to turn down rabiot after this. he's twice the player of matic.

We can agree on the bolded part.

We've gotten rid of Rooney, Schweinsteiger.. Why can't We do the same to Rabiot? (if He causes drama in the club)

He's only one player and will be a new comer. I doubt He'd have a lot of impact.

He's worth the punt, He has the quality We need. Give him 2 years contract and if He kicks up a fuss, just let him go on a free again.

There are at least a dozen CM's you can say that about though, the problem is he's been very open about not wanting to play the holding role so basically he'd be competing with Ander and Fred for the other #8 spot. Also the issue many have with Rabiot is about his attitude and mentality.

His demands include 200k/ week as well as 10m signing on bonus.... So can't really let him go for free again...

Tell me about Rabiot's stats, how are they looking? I'm not defending Herrera in particular, but i bet Rabiot isn't shaping up much better. And before you say he's more defensive, this is the guy that wanted to play a more attacking role.

He's a risk worth taking on a free transfer at the age of 23..

Unequivocally, I agree with what you mentioned. But Herrera will be 30 this year and Fred hasn't proven anything this season. Pereira cannot play in that role either and Mctominay plays better in the DM role. Rabiot can play any of the 3 roles in midfield. He has flair and has played in the Champions League. He's only 23 and it would be foolish to let him go. There are plenty of players who have had attitude issues... but you need to determine which players are manageable... If he's got the United mentality or Ole can have that instilled in him to get the best out of him, then why not?

Stats when you're playing for PSG mean nothing. I wouldn't go by that. If Barca hadn't bought De Jong, he would have been their main target...

His mother is his agent, agents talk to the press all the time and he moans but he hasn't done anything special that concerns PSG. As for celebrating the team losing, we are talking about a club that recently tried to sanction him by not paying the ethic prime for January because he wasn't at Doha, the reason he wasn't at Doha is because his grandmother died and his father was dying. They forced him to train away from the first team because he doesn't want to extend and they got sanctioned by the league because of that.

Rabiot and Icardi have nothing to do with each others, it's amazing that you try to paint a portrait that isn't even close to reality.

You tried to make out that a lot of players are like Rabiot. I think the only similar case right now is Icardi. Hated by their own fans, banished by their club, out of control agent.

Fact is the way he acts isn't normal at all. There may be reasons, but to sign him would be nothing more than an ill advised punt until he'd proven that he wasn't a massive primadonna prick elsewhere. Defend him all you want, I'm sure you have your reasons, but I'm of the opinion that player power has become a blight on football and I don't want our club to continue to succumb to it.

None, but we are rolling in money so that shouldn't be at the forefront of why we bring a player in.

He doesn't solve anything though, risk aside he just adds a 3rd option to a position we aren't crying out for.

I wouldn't say 30 is ancient for a well conditioned player like Herrera who isn't reliant on pace, but his game requires a lot of energy so it's something to monitor, and I agree on Fred although he's been good the last two games and harshly dropped tonight IMO. My main point is though that Rabiot doesn't want to play the holding role and that's the key role we need to address IMO, so while he can play more than one role he doesn't actually want to play the one his coaches have said is his best, that's another question mark on his mentality, his arrogance for someone who hasn't really proven anything is a concern for me. If Ole met him and felt he could get through to him and work with him then I'd cross my fingers as I've never said he wasn't a good player, but I think Ole and the coaching staff will look at it like me, this squad is too fragile to risk bringing in someone with his personality issues.

We might be rolling in money, but we do have a budget.

Rabiot is a much better passer of the ball than Herrera, much better. He's also much more mobile than Matic and can pass too. He's a very clear upgrade on both players.

I agree with the part of potentially risking the chemistry of the squad. Apart from Neves and Ndidi, I can't think of anyone who could potentially play in that role but both will cost around 70m. Also, we could change our formation to play 2 No. 8s behind Pogba who could play in the trequartista role. Rabiot could feature in that role alongside Ndombele or Herrera.

We do and I'd spend it all on holding midfield and a false 9/#10.

Herrera used to be a very different player when at Bilbao but he's become ultra cautious with his passing here, also Rabiot is playing in a wide open league, I think you might find his passing wont be quite so great when he hasn't got room to breathe in the PL. I agree he's better than Matic but he doesn't want to play there so it's irrelevant, trying to force a player into a position he doesn't want to play will never work.

It's like this with Rabiot, if Ole met him and Rabiot agreed to stop acting like an immature shithead whose Mom pulls his strings, and was ready to fully commit to taking on the holding role as his position, I'd be cool with it, however I'd be surprised to see that humility from him and I don't feel we need to add a 3rd #8 to the squad while Matic starts every week.

Pogba isn't great as a pure #10 IMO, that LCM is the sweet spot for him, I wouldn't mess with that personally. I'm a fan of Neves but I'm not sure defensively he can play the holding role the way we use it, he has 3 CB's behind him for extra protection at Wolves, on the ball though he'd greatly improve our midfield, Ndidi isn't good enough IMO, a pure destroyer who lacks the passing quality we need. Personally I'd activate Rodri's release clause and offer to double his wages.

No, I said lots of players moany, nothing else, stop making thing up. You clearly have no clue about the subject but still pretend.

Is his attitude in question? If it is we should stay away.

Tell me who these lots of players are that find themselves in the same situation as Rabiot?

1. Icardi
2. Erm....

You're talking bollocks for some reason. Are you French? You're going to weird lengths to defend what everyone else can see.

Leeds had already taken a punt on him so Ferguson had gotten a preview of him in the PL and a chance to get to know him better. I doubt he would have snapped him up from France.

People talk about some of our players having the wrong attitude yet want to bring in this dude.

We should sign him, his mum is no longer his agent, and also I think a lot of his treatment at PSG has been somewhat of an issue from the club not just the player
