Adnan Januzaj

I seem to remember Cleverly being good on the US one.

True that, led on to the Charity Shield second half too. I don't care what anyone says about him at the moment, there is a quality player in there and no matter who we bring in, it'll only enhance his chances.

Cleverley's contribution was more like what Lingard has done on this tour. He'd already had one good one the year before (like Lingard), and he stepped it up again by adding goals, including one very good one (again, like Lingard).

Januzaj's contributions haven't necessarily been as concrete as that, but he's undeniably got something very special about him and he's showing that.

I think he's shown more of that special something than any of our other youngsters have these past few years, although in very limited time. You can't help but feel excited seeing him play, he looks like he'll be class. Really hope he gets some chances this season with the first team.

Adnan Januzaj vs Cerezo Osaka. I made it in HD this time. Good performance. I like how he was patient in finding Anderson in the end. I've seen many youngsters who would have played a quick through ball (wrong ball) to an alternative target.

I can see him get 20+ apps this season.

Since the other thread has been closed, I've decided to copy/paste my invaluable comment here instead. The Caf needs to read it..

We've lost all our best foreign kids in the last decade - Rossi, Pique, Pogba, Daehli? The appearance of weakness invites predators. We need to keep at least one to counter the impression, and show that the policy of buying these kids makes sense in the first place.

Let's start with Januzaj

Agreed. Although the past is not quite as grim as you paint it - Daehli reportedly went with a Bojan-esque buy-back arrangement, so there's every chance that if he shines as he has the potential to we'll snap him back up. And the Da Silva brothers should probably count, since they were barely seventeen when we got them, only a year older than Pogba when we nicked him off Lens.

EDIT: Arrgh, went to all the trouble of making a linked quote to your post in the other thread and you went and reposted! Just when I was feeling all proud of my limited tech skills, Will...

He does look really good, great confidence in his ability, you can see him demand the ball and do what he wants, he slots in so easily. Works hard as well from what I've seen, definitely worth a few games this season, though starting to look a bit crowded atm, if you put him in amongst one of the attacking 4 thats, rvp, welbeck, hernandez, rooney, kagawa, nani, valecia, young, zaha and himself, plus perhaps lingaard.

Still the carling cup/fa cup could be great to see provided we get some decent draws and hopefully he will get some league time.

Do Juventus think we're their feeder club? Seriously they can feck right off.

Januzaj has stated that he loves being here and wants a new contract. He's getting a regular chance in the pre-season(which Pogba never did). He'll get a new contract and stay.

Besides Calciomercato.com, is a fecking rubbish site.

Not sure this is the same situation as any of the other young lads we've lost to foreign teams recently. Pogba was a unique situation and Pique/Rossi were also strange ones. If Adnan is progressing well and getting his opportunities then there's no need to worry now.

We should bid for all players of Juve's academy. That will teach them something, cnuts!

Dear Juve, you can have Januzai and Rooney and £5 million euros if we can have Vidal.
Regards,
Muppetchester United.

Unless Januzai is Januzaj cousin who isn't that good at football, they can feck off.

This last half page is ruining the Januzaj thread.

Yeah, that's fair. A young player with lots of promise, compared to getting the most complete CM out there, I'd snap their fecking hand off.

I wouldn't even think of selling the players of our academy without giving them the chance to shine here. Vidal is good but he's nowhere near the most complete CM out there.

Yeah agreed, I wouldn't let Januzaj go anywhere.

You cnuts are ruining the Januzaj thread. Get Juventus the feck outta here.

Can somebody gif that little turn he did between the 2 defenders late in the game? That was fecking sexy

Highly unlikely.

Think some are buttering up Januzaj a bit too much here. We've yet to fit Kagawa in consistenly in his best position, which is the same as Januzaj's, so doubt we'll see Adnan all that much. How many appearances did Powell make last season?

We actually should have played him in the four dead rubbers at the end of the season.

Januzaj has yet to sign a new contract, and has talked publicly about his preference for staying at OT and making some appearances for the first team. I'm sure Moyes knows that if that doesn't happen, he'll follow Pogba out of the club.
