 Beard Level: Hugh Jackman.

Imo, Adnan is being a bit underestimated here. Reaching the Rooney or Ronaldo class is a big ask, but I'm confident he'll be a top player.

No such class tbf, unless you are referring to two different classes.

Time for him to have a thread in the first team forum?

Edit: Thinking about it, if he's not in the first team squad then he'll probably be playing U21's, so never mind.

How good do we think he is compared to players of a similar age, say Sterling or Deulofeu?

Its irrelevant, as current ability would need to follow the same trajectory, which is not far from impossible, its safe to say if he gets his down I think he will be a top 4 player, that being said, you may well find he never kickstarts career and can't make the big step up, or he may have a bit of luck and turn out to be the best thing since slice bread... dodgey game my friend

How long did he play for today? (I missed the game.)

Edit - And how well did he play? I read that his defensive work was rather poor.

Had a few good touches but his passing I thought was slightly off. Didn't look bad defensively, put himself about like he did in the previous 2 games

Got took off the ball quite a few times also. Too keen to try and make something happen rather than keep the ball moving. Was very isolated playing in behind RVP and didn't drift deep this time, though Kagawa (his replacement) was doing that a lot and conducting play. Hopefully he learns from this.

Looked quite tired today along with a few other players probably to be expected given how much travelling the team is doing

That seems to be the opinion, albeit cautious, of most in this thread. Now that Brwned has pissed off, anyway.

Are we already at the the point where anyone who doesn't think he's nailed on to be a top player is underestimating him?

Nope, just at the point where anyone who thinks calling him 'special' is over the top is underestimating him.

Excuse the quality. I couldn't find a better download, but at least I managed to make it.

"My target for the season is to try and get some games for the first team," he said.
"I have not spoken to the manager about it yet but I would prefer to do that rather than go out on loan.
"That is what I came here for. Everyone wants to play for Manchester United."

"For the first few months when I came here, it was very hard," said Januzaj. "But gradually, my English started to improve. I could speak to other people and connect with them.
"Now I feel confident and happy to be with the players, and in particular Ryan Giggs. Every time I need to ask something, I go to Giggs. He helps me quite a lot.

The clearance off the goal line from that corner was awesome. De Gea owes him a real pat on the back!

From Sky Sports..

Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj insists he would rather remain at Old Trafford and fight for a starting place than move elsewhere on loan. The 18-year-old Belgian winger has yet to make a first-team appearance for United but was named on the bench for the 5-5 draw at West Brom in Sir Alex Ferguson's final game last season.

Januzaj was taken on the club's pre-season tour to the Far East and Australia by boss David Moyes and has made a positive impression so far."My target for the season is to try and get some games for the first team," he said."I have not spoken to the manager about it yet but I would prefer to do that rather than go out on loan."That is what I came here for. Everyone wants to play for Manchester United."

The former Anderlecht player has also been seeking guidance from veteran winger Ryan Giggs, who is now part of United's coaching staff."For the first few months when I came here, it was very hard," said Januzaj. "But gradually, my English started to improve. I could speak to other people and connect with them."Now I feel confident and happy to be with the players, and in particular Ryan Giggs. Every time I need to ask something, I go to Giggs. He helps me quite a lot."

Well you'd definitely think he can play the cup games and being able to play across the front 3 and even upfront should give him lots of ways to get some minutes. That said we're looking a bit stocked atm. If he stays powell should go on loan as you'd want one of them to get regular games. I think if Nani stays than we might need to consider moving Young on although I don't see that happening. But with some of the young players coming through and the addition of Zaha we are looking like there's a lot of players.

The Belgian has attracted interest from Juventus and Barcleona, but Januzaj, who has one year left on his current deal, wants to commit himself to United.
"I don't decide what happens with my contract," said Januzaj. "I've got people behind me who do this for me.
"Manchester United are a big club, I love it here and I feel good, so I hope to stay.
"My dad does everything for me [off the pitch]. He just told me to work hard on the pitch, which is what I try to do."
"On this tour I've tried to do my best and worked hard on the pitch," said Januzaj.
"But it's hard for us as well, with all the travelling and moving between different countries and time-zones.
"I've tried to impress the manager and make sure I give myself the chance to stay with the first-team."
Januzaj was deployed just behind Robin van Persie in a 3-2 defeat in Tokyo, and said he relished the chance to play with such an experienced striker.
"It's great because he's obviously a big player," said Januzaj. "When you play with big players like him you feel confident, which is good.
"There will maybe be a chance for me to play there [off the main striker] this season, so we will see in the future what will happen.
"I think it's a big season for me. Like I said, I've tried to impress the manager and try to play regularly.
"I worked hard last season. I didn't play in my favourite position, more as a striker, but I think I did well."

Glad to see he says he'll stay. I still think his contract is till 2015 though but I've no doubt that the club will renew the contract.

Yep I think Lingard / Januzaj / Zaha Could make a nice 3 behind a striker for the cups.

I just hope he is patient enough. If he continues to improve and stays with us I see him become a success here. Not just yet though. He'll surely get his chances in the cup games though.

Last youth player to make such an impression on tour?
