Yep agree Jimy the hype is getting mad as for quotes like "I wouldn't swap him for any player in the world" complete silliness IMHO, Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Suraz, Augero and quite a few more are all easily better and I think Moyes would swap any them for Adnan. Whilst its great developing young players winning trophies is far more enjoyable.

I don't think you understand what people are saying when they say they wouldn't swap him for any player in the world. They are not for one minute saying that he's a better player than any of those, but that he could be. He's already outstanding and he's homegrown and our fans love nothing more than players coming through the ranks which is why some would rather keep him and hope he keeps growing rather that swap for someone with no affiliation with the club.

Also, I'd rather have aids than have Suarez at United.

I find it much more satisfying to see one of the players we've nurtured turn into one of the best players in the world and no, I wouldn't swap Adnan for Suarez or any of those players you've mentioned. He's the only player I wouldn't swap for anyone else. Messi will be retired by the time Adnan will be playing the best football in his career.

In the summer of 06 when Ronnie was subject to a mega money move to Real because of the whole England/Rooney issue would you have been happy for him to have left with United going for someone like Ronaldinho or Kaka?

When a player has 'it' you want to see them stay and fulfill their potential. No one is saying Januzaj at this very moment in time is the greatest thing since sliced bread, they're saying he looks like he can do special things for us for a long period into the future and they want to see him reach the heights his potential is showing.

For what it's worth I'd be seriously annoyed if we parted company with Januzaj before he reaches the top. It's just tongue in cheek saying 'I wouldn't swap him for (insert superstar here)'...largely because we couldn't anyway!

I remember at the time hearing people say we should sell him and get Lennon in as a replacement. Might've been Evra I suppose.

Exactly. It's not like Barca are ringing Woodie offering Messi anyway so don't get to hung up on it lawman.

Oh Adnan loves his chicken
on dates he wears a cap
He met this bird on twitter
and said I fancy that
He didn't go to Rosso
Or Gaucho for the night
He took the bird to Nandos
cos it's cheaper for a bite.

That's great

This post has a good example of skirting the line as far as forum etiquette is concerned. Hyperbole is great and all but I'm sure you'd rather take 5 years of Luis Suarez banging in goals, eating Russians and generally talking down to people of colour than actually have AIDS and face a lifetime of pills, treatment and probably death from pneumonia somewhere down the line. Just sayin'.

Wishing aids on myself surely not the same as anything in the etiquette forum. Yeah, of course it's hyperbole, but it's obviously sarcastic enough to be such.

In all seriousness I wouldn't be able to watch United if he played here. Literally I would keep an eye out for the scores and that but no way could I support a team with him in it now.

I'd swap him for almost all of them.

It's in poor taste, which is why I said it skirted the lines on what's appropriate. You're intelligent enough that you can think of a better bit of hyperbole than that.

Do you even get the real and genuine preference to create our own stars rather than buy them in at either their peak or on the slide down?

Irwinwastheking don't take the topred route here I have seen many a youngster coming through and it is brilliant but nothing beats the winning trophies feeling. So stop the sentimental shite you are talking Adnan is not even from the UK and so homegrown mmmmmmmmm debatable and I would swap him for Messi in a second.

Not top redding man. It was a genuine quesiton.

Do you understand that some people would rather take a chance on one of our outstanding youth products rather than swap him for a top 5 world player?

You said you would swap while some have said they wouldn't. That's not me being a top red dude, it's asking a real question.

Also, he came through the academy so he's homegrown.

Edit: 3 times. Holy feck. I'll hold back on my top redding from now on.

Moyes wouldn't. Thankfully, he's building for the future. Messi and Ronaldo aside, he's considerably better than all of those players at the same age. I'd put him slightly ahead of Ronaldo, too. His potential is ridiculous, and it has to be fulfilled here at United.

As soon as I got to this part my mind reverted to Homer Simpson's voice. Interesting.

I think the "wouldn't swap him for anyone" is just understandable hyperbole, we've got a mental attachment to him now as we're the club that will hopefully make him a top player in years to come. He's someone that nearly every other club around is going to be envious of us having, so we're enjoying it.

I think for some it's not hyperbole at all. I honestly don't think I'd take a straight swap right now for any player in the world for the given reasons.

Im sure she got her 100k newspaper exclusive fee anyway, poor girl had to slum it at nandos with a United player

Nothing silly about it I'm afraid, it's just a different point of view. I think it's special when you have young players like Ronaldo and Januzaj become stars at your teams. It's hugely enjoyable to see them go from bright talents to world beaters in your team. That's how ill always feel. Besides, if anything holds us back from winning trophies it's not going be one of the worlds most talented young footballers.

Also, Suarez?

I want to tell you
I might as well do
About a boy who won't pay for anything.
She wanted Rosso's, they went to Nandos,
Januzaj Januzaj Januzaj

Yeah, let alone the likes of Augero and Suaraz.

I used to work in the Ashton Moss Nandos and Welbeck and his boys would come in almost every other week. It got the point where me and Welbz were pretty much best friends, he'd walk in and I'd take his food to him. Probably could have joined his crew if I wanted to.

The media has really become poor if they devote so much time, effort and money to such a bland and boring story. OK the girl was obviously an idiot and Januzaj must've realised she was on minor tingz yo.

Try joining Ravel's crew, that would be some accomplishment.
