Adel Taarabt

Adel Taarabt has claimed that while his agent has spoken to AC Milan, other factors would have to happen before any move to the San Siro.

QPR's Moroccan playmaker admits that rumoured exits and arrivals at the San Siro would have an effect on whether he would make a move to the Italian giants.

"Me to AC Milan? My agent speaks with (AC Milan CEO, Adriano) Galliani, but my future depends on Robinho and Pastore," Taarabt told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Milan aren't going through a glorious period now, and they're no longer a part of the top clubs, but making it big with the Rossoneri could open the door to huge clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona."

Taarabt was close to moving to Paris St-Germain in 2011, but he is adamant that a move to the French side is not on the cards.

"Leonardo preferred Pastore and then spoke ill of me. As long as he stay there I won't ever go to Paris, even if I often hear the president Nasser Al Khelaifi."

However a move elsewhere in the Premier League is something the 23-year-old would consider.

"I'd leave London only for Manchester United, the club of my dreams, where there is no number 10.

"For Mr Ferguson I'd also stay silent on the bench and I would work hard."

That goal against Fulham is one of the most overrated I've seen. He fecks up the first trick, lucks it past his man, then tries the same trick again (it's not even a trick) but for no apparent reason, then finishes it quite nicely. My R's mates were fecking wetting themselves over it.

It wasn't sensational but it was pretty sweet. He out Berbed Berbs in that game.

That goal was not anything special but the goal he scored earlier in the season was much better, and the goal in the championship where he nuts the first player, skins the second then curls top corner is magic

The finish is orgasmic imo.

Something fantastically aesthetic about scoring in that manner.

I just don't see it in him to be amazing at a big club. He's not even consistently good for a side like QPR. It's all well and good saying that 'They're not doing well' but the top class talents will stand out. Whenever i have seen him he has had glimpses of class but i've not seen a full game of class.

Starting to put some consistency together and adapting to the PL.

Genuinely think he would excel at a bigger club. Just get a feeling watching him.

The only question mark would be whether be could do it at a club where he isn't the main man. He thrives on attention and can be selfish - excellent player but one who I feel you have to put right at the centre of your team, I don't think he would be as effective playing second or third fiddle to another

a very skillful player but he can be frustrating for his manager and fans because of his lack of end product. i mean he can dribble past 2 or 3 players like they didn't exists but then shot wide of the goal or over hit his pass to a teammate. but the talent is obviously there to be seen.

Yeah I agree. Norwich crowded him out whenever he had the ball yesterday and yet managed to cause them plenty of problems. At a bigger club he'll have far more space to work with and better players around him.

He's so overrated. It just takes a player who likes running with the ball to impress people. The thing is he's not even good at it. A player like Darren Huckerby was a lot better doing those sort of things + he added something to the team.

Taarabt is the selfish sort of player that people get angry with. I can bet my life on that he won't be anywhere near a big club in the future.

Indeed, if I wanted a player who could run at players at speed, then why not talk about Adam Johnson in the same breath. Hell, a re-invented Ryan Giggs is still superior to the likes of Taarabt. The hyperbole for an average player is astounding, and shocking to be honest. I hope that he comes nowhere near to Old Trafford.

And if I was to say that he would be great to replace someone like Young?

Then I would agree with you. Taarabt might not work out at a big club, he has well publicized attitude issues but on talent alone a big club could do a lot worse than Taarabt at 10-12m.

The pre-conceived notions revolving around Taarabt by his detractors are far more over the top than he is overrated by those who see potential in him.

There's a fair amount to shoot Taarabt down with, but what people are using is well wide of the mark.

He clearly has a lot of talent. He also clearly has flaws in his game. The two should not be confused with each other and the general idea of potential is weening out all the flaws and nurturing that talent. You'd think he was some mindless clogger by some of the comments thrown his way in this thread.

Whether Taarabt makes it at a CL-level club is probably going to come down to what's in his head in terms of ability to learn and process what coaches and managers tell him and combine it with the attributes he already has.

What's for certain is that, in part, he has: passing, dribbling and the ability to draw a number of bodies to him and open up the field for team-mates that you see from players in the best sides and anyone who pays attention to his game should be able to attest to his through-balls, diagonal play-ins and slotted passes and his ability to draw two and three men out of position to deal with him. Once or twice a game, he will do one thing or other that wouldn't be out of place at a top club and that marks him as player to at least keep tabs on.

If his talent was consistent and he wasn't such an uncertain and immature figure mentally, I'm sure he would already be at a big club, just as I think they're waiting for him to show stability over a season before taking a punt on him.

The one attitude problem is that he thinks that he is the big fish in a small pond. How would he do playing second fiddle at Manchester United?

And you're gathering this opinion from watching him this season, or in the past?

Because he's working his arse off at QPR this season and they are dependent on him for practically every good thing they do in attack.

His work-rate does not match with your description of him. The amount of times he plays others in on goal also does not match your description, so what are you basing it off of?

The hype around a player that has continued to be a failure at the top tier in English football is rather amusing. Especially considering the stick players like Nani, Valencia, Young and even Rooney get on this board.

Taarabt has natural ability in abundance but is miles away in numerous other factors to make it at a big club.

I think he could be a top half player. That's it.

He's average but should get a move to a top tier side when they go down. I'm not sure he'll remain in England though, he seems like the sort of player who could move to Turkey or Russia.

What hype?

The thing is he's pretty talented but when he's not on it he's a complete liability. The same can't be said of Young and Valencia, even if they don't have a good game individually they'll always be willing to be team-players and are usually good to have as part of a collective. Could you imagine Taarabt being as influential when we need a disciplined performance away from home like we usually put in against City/Chelsea/Arsenal etc?

Can't get a game at Fulham, yet AC sign him. Really shows how far they have fallen. I presume they are hoping he can have a Boateng type impact.

Not one of the most talented players in the world, probably not in the top 20. What a load of rubbish

When he was coming through at Spurs I was desperate for Fergie to get his hands on him. He could have been anything he wanted to.

I was reading through saying that in my mind, before I discovered your post and felt very satisfied

Its something that gets repeated about Taarabt many times. And I can remember him coming on against United as a sub and the commentator going off on one about him being the most talented young player he's ever seen.

He's talented sure but its nonsense that he's anywhere near the top
