Rumour posted on VCF news (which tends to be fairly accurate) that Spurs were willing to pay the 30 million euro buyout on Soldado's contract but he didnt want to leave just a few days ago, when you were obviously still likely to sign Adebayor. So you may still be in the market for a fairly big name striker
Well, I will say that you're wrong about this: we are most definitely after an additional striker and have a very specific target. But whether we'll actually get the player concerned is another question.

If the reports are true, then £5m for a striker of Adebayor's level is a fantastic deal by any standards ... especially if (again as reported) we're not even breaking our current wage structure to get him.

Even if there was no ffp considerations, it would still make more sense to receive a £5m fee and only pay £95k a week!
