Adebayor to Spurs (permanent signing)?

Done deal to Spurs. They just announced on their OS.

Now just need to sort out a central midfielder and they will be back on track.

Interesting to see how much they're paying Adebayor. I don't think Spurs can pay the 175k and there's no way that he's taking the pay cut.

This is why they are shipping out lots of shite like Hundredstone and Donkey Dawson. Great bit of business as Adebayor has a history of great performances and loyalty. AVB is not insane at all.

By the sounds of it City are letting him go for free to get him off the books. £30M fee and over £20M wages down the karzy.

I don't understand how can one pay Adebayor 175k that too four years ago. Berbs was on high fee but he's on 90k.

Not sure whether you're sarcastic in parts or in whole.

Amazing deal done by Levy. £5m and City paying £95k of his wages

Dick Turpin wore a mask when he robbed people

Amazing deal done by Sheyi, now he can go back to sitting on his jacksy for the next four years.

He's got his deal, I fully expect some fairly abject performances pretty soon. No fecks given, many asked.

So it means they'll lose that £5m on his wages in a year. Wow.

You don't think we'll go for another striker as well?

I think you will. Rumour posted on VCF news (which tends to be fairly accurate) that Spurs were willing to pay the 30 million euro buyout on Soldado's contract but he didnt want to leave just a few days ago, when you were obviously still likely to sign Adebayor. So you may still be in the market for a fairly big name striker

Nope. You should though. You need a CM and a support striker. I hope you get neither.

Well, I will say that you're wrong about this: we are most definitely after an additional striker and have a very specific target. But whether we'll actually get the player concerned is another question.

Come on.

If the reports are true, then £5m for a striker of Adebayor's level is a fantastic deal by any standards ... especially if (again as reported) we're not even breaking our current wage structure to get him.

You have to hand it to Levy. The man has a serious poker face.

It shows how much City are sweating about these ffp rules.

I meant for City, if they receive £5m for him and subsidise £95k a week to wis wages, they'll lose that £5m in a year.

Spurs a Modric replacement and another winger away from having a very good shot at top 4. Depending on how AVB feels about Defoe though they might get another striker in, ship Defoe out and use Kane as 3rd choice.

...a very good shout at blowing top four surely.

What would be the point of paying £175k a week to someone who you would not even be naming in your 25 man squad?

Even if there was no ffp considerations, it would still make more sense to receive a £5m fee and only pay £95k a week!

The awesomeness that is Europa League football. So great a prize Man City and Man Utd dropped out of the CL for it.

Beggars can't be choosers.

(especially if they were really looking at Chamakh!)
