Agree with all your points, but at this point, I would prefer the tea lady to seeing Valencia and Young at RB. So I refuse to get all pessimistic and assume that whomever we get can only be an improvement to the eyesore performances we have been seeing in that position.
Hmmm this article seems to think we are holding out for £70m, fair fecks to our board if this goes through at anything over £60m.

From all I’ve heard though, they really do want to keep him at the club.

Palace are kidding themselves if they think that’s going to happen. It will be 40m with add ons to 50m - it’s a good deal.
Man Utd may have their right back problem solved by next summer. This might be the last time 50 million would be on the table. That is big club arrogance talking, you are assuming Palace WANT to do a deal. Everything I am hearing through our ITKs is that we do not want to do a deal unless the offer is genuinely too good to refuse, and AWB is not kicking up a fuss either. So why are we kidding ourselves exactly? And who is it a good deal for?
If you look at one of my posts earlier in this forum I already explained that our wage bill will limit our ability to spend the money, so it needs to be an unrejectable offer. We could quite easily keep him this season and get that offer again next summer, so that is not an unrejectable offer.
Re Zaha, don’t even want to think about that one yet! He doesn’t seem to be a Spurs target anymore, Arsenal can’t afford him, Chelsea have a ban. Leaves City, Liverpool or you. Can’t see the first two going after him and you have history with him. Will be a really shite summer if they both go.

Nah. If we don’t buy him, one of our competitors will sooner or laterMan Utd may have their right back problem solved by next summer. This might be the last time 50 million would be on the table.
You’re kidding yourselves if you think you will get 70m from anyone. You won’t - simple as that.
50m for a kid who cost you nothing is a good deal. He’s not going to increase in value.
I think you have missed the part where he says they have no desire to sell at all.
I haven’t missed anything - do you honestly believe Crystal Palace are going to turn down 50m for an academy graduate right back? Utd are desperate and palace quite rightly have inflated the fee.
Have we?Haven't seen any mention of a second bid going in.We have upped the offer twice now. How much more will they bleed us for.
SSN said the second bid was 50million early this week and it was refused

Slight issue is that James is LW so RW is still dead position. In a space of a season United might go from Lingard and Young on the right flank to James and Wan Bissaka. Small victories.
Palace exploring if they can remove the sell on clause which United inserted in Zaha's contract in 2015.
Wonder how much the sell on clause is?

£40m and waive the sell on?I've heard 20% for United, if we can get this deal done for something respectable then we should waive it.
He said in his interview he's more than happy on the right hand side.Slight issue is that James is LW so RW is still dead position.

I magazine if he was still a regular starter and Dalot/AWB were fighting for the place on the bench.Seems like this one is about to be wrapped up soon, love the idea of competition for starting right back and more importantly I love the fact that Young wont be starting games.
Yep, if we waive it and give them £40m I think that’s fair.I called the waiving of the sell on a while back, makes sense if aren't interested in taking Zaha back.
