Agree with all your points, but at this point, I would prefer the tea lady to seeing Valencia and Young at RB. So I refuse to get all pessimistic and assume that whomever we get can only be an improvement to the eyesore performances we have been seeing in that position.

I agree with you to a certain extent. But who in the world has the ability to revitalise our right wing? Nobody except a prime Dani Alves. A huge reason why TAA or Walker is so effective is that they are playing in a offensive team which allows them lots of space and time on the ball or better positions. Put them in our team and they will be exposed for all the weaknesses in defending. With AWB, I think he will be one of the best if we sort out our winger position with somebody better. A Sancho or Pepe would bring his game up a level and I hope Ole has intentions to use him as 1/2 of his plan for our right.

Seems like this one is about to be wrapped up soon, love the idea of competition for starting right back and more importantly I love the fact that Young wont be starting games.

Yeah there were links floating around about us being interested in Castagne a few days ago, kinda dismissed those on account of Atalanta being in the CL. Our transfers from abroad have been horrific recently so I always worry when these links pop up, I don’t know much about him.

Hmmm this article seems to think we are holding out for £70m, fair fecks to our board if this goes through at anything over £60m.

From all I’ve heard though, they really do want to keep him at the club.

I think when you let sky sports say he won't go for anything less than £50 million then you've clearly set your price already, imo it'll end up been something like £40 million with incentives to get the £50 million fee eventually.

What do you think will happen with Zaha if this lad moves to us? Zaha looks grumpy at the best of times, and has made his feelings about leaving clear, so surely he'll be allowed to move as well, no matter what Palace say.

Palace are kidding themselves if they think that’s going to happen. It will be 40m with add ons to 50m - it’s a good deal.

That is big club arrogance talking, you are assuming Palace WANT to do a deal. Everything I am hearing through our ITKs is that we do not want to do a deal unless the offer is genuinely too good to refuse, and AWB is not kicking up a fuss either. So why are we kidding ourselves exactly? And who is it a good deal for?

If you look at one of my posts earlier in this forum I already explained that our wage bill will limit our ability to spend the money, so it needs to be an unrejectable offer. We could quite easily keep him this season and get that offer again next summer, so that is not an unrejectable offer.

Re Zaha, don’t even want to think about that one yet! He doesn’t seem to be a Spurs target anymore, Arsenal can’t afford him, Chelsea have a ban. Leaves City, Liverpool or you. Can’t see the first two going after him and you have history with him. Will be a really shite summer if they both go.

Man Utd may have their right back problem solved by next summer. This might be the last time 50 million would be on the table.

You’re kidding yourselves if you think you will get 70m from anyone. You won’t - simple as that.

50m for a kid who cost you nothing is a good deal. He’s not going to increase in value.

I think you have missed the part where he says they have no desire to sell at all.

I haven’t missed anything - do you honestly believe Crystal Palace are going to turn down 50m for an academy graduate right back? Utd are desperate and palace quite rightly have inflated the fee.

They may not, as they may think it’s a fair price. The point is, if one doesn’t arrive, they will be even happier.

In a space of a season United might go from Lingard and Young on the right flank to James and Wan Bissaka. Small victories.

Fifield is the journalist to trust regarding CPFC news.

Sell-on clause is 20% as far as I know.

Shouldn't waive the sell on when there is potential for Zaha to move for £70m plus.

Comparison of AWB vs the top 6 teams most played RB last season.

His defensive numbers are very impressive it has to be said, beefed up a bit of course due to the team he plays for but saying that his numbers are some of the best in the league over all.

I magazine if he was still a regular starter and Dalot/AWB were fighting for the place on the bench.

If we're to waive the fee then surely the deal for Wan-Bissaka has to be between 30/40 mil.

I called the waiving of the sell on a while back, makes sense if aren't interested in taking Zaha back.
Yep, if we waive it and give them £40m I think that’s fair.

20% of zaha could easily be like £12m these Days

These transfers are dragging on, and we kick off the new season 8 weeks tomorrow.
I do think that Wan Bissaka will come here, but we also need to get other deals over the line ASAP.
If Pogba, Lukaku, and De Gea, move on we will have a big transfer pot, but we need to move faster in the transfer market.
Ole and Phelan need to make a statement this summer and with only 8 weeks left we need to move quickly. Would hate to be left wanting on the final day of transfer window.
