Good defender, but unfortunately he's got the game intelligence and ball control of a lower-league player.

Was by far his worst game for us, on and off the ball. No need to go all knee-jerk about it. Been having a great season all the same.

Terrible on the ball. Absolutely awful and today didn’t even get any tackles in to redeem himself

You'd think as a 21 year old who's good at one thing you'd want to improve other aspects of your game but this kid doesn't know how to control and run with the fecking football. What are we coaching in him?

Doubt you can coach those things at 21 anymore to improve much. Especially when he is 21 and even any of us could do as well as he does in a EPL games. That's how low level he is with those.

You don't start to learn how to run and control a football when you're a fecking United-player, signed for 50m. That's what you do when you're a kid.

I just don't get him. Some games he makes a good run and puts a pretty good cross and other games he's totally trash up front. Very weird player.

His attacking play has clearly improved this season. Yes, today wasn’t good but Jesus fecking Christ. Chill out

I don't think people on here are upset he doesn't have Trent's offensive output. People are perplexed at how uncomfortable he is with the ball at his feet.

He had done great crosses into the box in the first half but surprise surprise no one on the box to get in the end of that. Second half we didn't attack much to be fair.

He is exhausted or even injured for last couple of months. Looked much faster and more agile earlier this season, definately needs rest now.

I don't remember any 'great' crosses from him this match. All I remember is he could not get space or time to do anything on the ball.

He's been better lately, but God that was frustrating when he knocked the ball out for a goal-kick. Lukaku-esque close control.

Zero awareness, lack of on-pitch intelligence and diabolical ball control. I cringe every time he tries something with the ball because of how forced/laboured/artificial/lack of control it seems. Not donkey levels, but close. I had a Sunday league team with better ball players.

He's like Smalling on the ball. He looks so clumsly and uncomfortable in possession. We really could do with an attacking RB as an alternative.

I give him credit to his one on one defending. For the rest, it is like he is a mix of Smalling and Valencia. He just needs to kick the ball into shins more often.

We knew when we bought him that he wasn't great in attack and he still looks very awkward going forward, but he's trying and showing some improvement IMO, his delivery is decent when he actually gets the cross in. Defensively though he was poor today by his lofty standards, I look at how he handled Sterling vs his struggles with both Everton forwards today and I'd say that he's worn out, as someone mentioned above.

Thats why he looked "world class" at Palace, because they hardly had the ball so most of the game they were defending.

I think he needs a good RW to help him out in the wing. We would be able to judge his game better overall, especially in the attacking sense. From what I remember of him at his time at Palace, his attack intent wasn't so bad. But I do feel that he needs to be better aware of when he should run to the byline to cross, play a cut back, a reverse pass or play it back into mid field.

I think he could be a good signing here and he's done ok/well enough this season but there are genuinely a few concerns that have been evident all season. You'd have to be blind not to see them and only focus on the good points.

He's an outstanding 1v1 defender. His passing, touch and attacking play are erratic though. He's still really young and can go up a few levels but I don't know, his technique worries me a bit for a 50 million full back. Our eventual aim is to be back winning premier league titles and competing for Champions leagues again. Our full backs definitely have to step up their attacking contribution and overall play a bit more.

I keep reading his attacking play has got slightly better but it is still shocking how bad he is going forward. I don't think he'll improve a huge amount tbh and can see him being overtaken by Laird if given a chance.

I called it months ago. We've had our pants pulled down with this one. He's never ever ever going to be good enough for a title chasing team. He looks lost on the ball all too often.

Good tackler he may well be but overall his game is just not good enough. Shaw is the same too. Okay defender but piss poor in the final third.

If we had Trent n Robertson you'd see a totally different Utd side. Fullbacks are the new wingers in the modern game. We don't seem to have got the memo.

Liverpool, City, Bayern, Juve, Barca etc all have offensive fullbacks. Coincidence?

They funnelled him in-field and on to his weak foot today. Good tactic he'll have to adapt to if more teams do this.

Still looks like he’s about to stumble every time he gets the ball in an attacking position.

Brandon Williams is a RB playing as a LB and definitely the best full back that we have and if Wan Bissaka doesnt cut it which is looking more likely by the day we do already have a player to replace him. We need to buy a LB though.

I don't disagree, I think he needs a rest too.

That's patently untrue. The highlighted part is so inaccurate as to be laughable.

Williams is young and learning, he's made as many mistakes as good decisions.

If you think he's the best FB we have then you need to watch football more closely.

He's not 21. He's actually 23 this year. I sincerely doubt he's going to improve that much a thing like technique or intelligence on the ball. You either got it by that age or you don't. He's so far off pace in that regard that I think it's doomed.

We had a very good example in Valencia, a player that we hoped for years will improve his technique, never happened.

The same will happen to AWB. He is already 23, I feel is a bit too late for him to.improve his offensive play.

Can't believe we signed 25 year old RB who can't control football and worst player to ever play for us.

Hes 22. The chronic need on here to ignore players actual age to add on like this is ridiculous. He just turned 22 a few months ago!

Valencia was obviously much better on the ball. Simply because he was actually a top level winger once and one of our best players as a winger. AWB was a winger at youth level, who probably only got converted to a RB because he wasn't good enough at that level to play wing.

Why are people making up excuses saying he not fully fit and needs a rest. He's played the exact same way since his first game with us, his fitness didn't come in to question earlier in the season so why is it an issue now.

The guy is no where near good enough going forward, he looks so awkward when in possession of the ball.

His defending is so overrated as well. He gets praised for making all of these last ditch sliding tackles but he wouldn't have to make so many sliding tackles if his positioning was any good.

He may improve slightly over the next 2-3 seasons but he's never going to be good enough going forward.

You don't splash 45 mill on a player who is a marginal on upgrade on what we already had, doesn't make any sense.
