Aaron Lennon

Do you think he would become a world-class winger at Old Traffrd?

We are without Ronaldo, would be good to buy some English players, Lennon has qualities, but he's not a complete footballer yet. He may become great player under Ferguson.

He's worth about £15m, but with Tottenham chairmen, do you think £20m is a good price?

20 mil for a player that is not fit to lick the shit from any of our players boots.
Vastly over rated and not United class ,let the dippers have him he will fit in with the shot they already have.

Say what you like, but Lennon has posed more threat to Man. Utd's defence down the right hand side than probably any other right-sided player you've faced this season.

i agree, just lacking that final product sometimes. But then he is very young, so there is time for the penny to drop

He made Evra look like he was waiting for a taxi on numerous occasions last season and tbh Evra took a long time to recover from that. He has the pace of Walcott but better ball control and of course he is English.

He can actually be pretty devastating on his day, but that doesn't occur frequently enough.

Gone backwards fast this season, the way he's been playing lately isn't even midtable standard.

If I remember correctly he started last season strongly and looked like he might finally be taking the step up, but then got injured and has just been his usual inconsistent self ever since. Normally has very little end-product, but can often cause havoc to the opposition team which will make it easier for others on his team.

I wouldn't want him here, but he'd probably be a good player for Liverpool.

He's fast and that's about it, when he's faced with a fullback who can position themselves usefully he has absolutely no idea what to do.

Tactic: massive tug of war with Liverpool acting like we will pay whatever is required, when the bidding hits £25m we wait till an official offer matching it from the scousers comes in and then just laugh at them.

He's definitely not a bottler though. His tummy was sore. Right?!

He's actually pretty fecking good when he's on song, I remember at the start of last season he was one of the most frightening wingers in the Premiership until he got injured.

His delivery is far too inconsistent though, and the rest of his game doesn't really make up for it but I can see him being a decent signing if Liverpool were to get him, they desparately need a right winger so I wouldn't rule it out either.

He's like Usain Bolt with a ball at his feet right now. Liverpool can have him.

Frightening to whom?

Is that a serious question? I take it you didn't see much of him in the beginning half of last season if you didn't think he was one of the form wingers in the league. At this point though, Bale, Nani and Malouda hadn't really kicked into gear but it was still impressive none the less.

Having been on the Caf for quite some time, I feel I can sort of gauge what The Cheif's general opinion of Aaron Lennon is.

He... Likes him?

Better end ball this year, but not sure he has the mental gift to make it at a top team. He's fine with Spurs or Liverpool.

Dude I watch him most of the time. He is so unimpressive. Minus pace he has nothing to his game.

He's got potential, and there was a point last season where I genuinely thought he would fullfill it. His decision making, final ball and productivity all improved pretty drastically but after he got injured he went back to his old, inconsistent self. Shame really.

He's fine for someone like Liverpool, and well worth £10m, especially as they need a genuine wing option from the right.

He's not really very good. Shaun Wright Philips level winger. A lot of pace and a little bit of trickery but just not enough in his locker in any particular area to make a difference and become a starter in a title challenging team. Very poor goal stats and less importantly weak assist stats in such an attacking team.

He'd be useful as an attacking sub, say like Babel used to be for Liverpool but his being English puts him out of the price range for such a role.

So we can just theoretically take away dangerous facets of players games and claim they are nothing without them ?
Football is not athletics. You need more than just pace to be an actual threat. Lennon isn't a good dribbler, isn't good at crossing, isn't intelligent with his decision making, is a very average finisher and his vision is severely lacking. His only consistent attribute is pure pace.
