A serious look at Mauricio Pochettino

Hola Señor Pochettino! Time to put on that track suit.

Training starts tomorrow morning at 10:00. Bring your coaching staff with you.

United are absolute fools if they don't move heaven and earth to get Pochettino.

Will he want to come though? That's the question.

I'd rather Hasenhuttl, he seems more intelligent tactically, and just as good with man management.

Personally, I'd rule out Allegri and Simeone on aesthetic grounds - their football is a little dull; effective, but dull nonetheless.
In terms of Simeone, I would be more worried about him taking the Machete to the shit we have in the squad.

I get the feeling that Utd are playing the waiting game. We’ll limp through the rest of the season and appoint him in the summer is my bet.

Think this is it.

I actually think Ole gets kept on in some capacity, maybe he gets that token DOF role that doesn't sound like a real job.

Why the feck would he want to come here and ruin his reputation. Woodward n Glazers will be the end for Poch. Nobody is going to succeed here under this regime.

Poch will wait for another club I reckon.

I'd take Poch, but unless we actually back him in the summer it would be pointless.

You may be right. The mooted DOF role sounds too watered down to attract anyone decent, but for Ole, it would probably be preferable to heading back to Norway, which will realistically be his only other option if United dispense with his services this summer.

Get him in ffs! We have to be ruthless. A chance to sign a top manager doesn't come around often.

I think he'll obviously be United manager in the summer. I'd want him now so he can see firsthand how difficult the summer will be but if he fancies recharging his batteries some further then I'm ok. We simply can't go on with Solskjaer.

Get poch in straight away, use rest of the season to get his ideas across and just go all out for the Europa!

I just cant see any in demand manager coming here.

Poch wont get too many chances at a top job. If he comes here and fails that might be it.

I dont think a net spend of 60-70 mil in the summer will appeal to him at all.

Think we are going to be stuck with the second tier managers.

He endured Spurs who hardly bought anyone.

And work under the Glazer's and Ed? I highly doubt it. Top managers out there will have seen what happened to all the previous ones and it will give them doubts. Club is ran by incompentent clowns.

He could turn the job down if the funding isn't there, which after LVG and Jose, might not be. We'd be in better hands than Ole but it's not a job worth taking if he has to perform miracles, he grew frustrated at Spurs and also inherited some good buys from AVB. We have an awfully flawed and thin squad.

I hope he does take the job to at least counter the board.

We have been fools for the past six years. I agree though that it is time we move heaven and earth for him. Looking at how Spurs is struggling with Mourinho, it only vindicate Pochettino’s performances the years he has been at Spurs. Mourinho even stated this will be his hardest job despite this Spurs team being in the champions league final last season. United fans will bite the hand of anyone who could get us back into the champions league playing great football and challenge for domestic and foreign titles.

He will definitely come because the foundation we have here is much better than what he had when he took over at Spurs. He has the opportunity with an abundant resource to rebuild one of the biggest club in the world. Who will say no to that?

Can’t see him coming before summer if there’s a chance at all, no way he’s walking into this shit.

Will he want to take a team into the EL, if that turns out to be what's on offer, if he has offers from CL-qualified teams?

It is laughable that this thread has 292 pages and people STILL think that Poch is the answer. Pep would fail here

That is the truth people are overlooking. Still though. Beat Spurs, Chelsea and City. Yet Lost to fecking Burnley

Liverpool should have stuck with Dalgish, Leicester with Puel etc cause you know, managers mean feck all.

We have deep, deep rooted problems. Pochettino is obviously a better manager than Ole though and having a better manager can not be a bad thing.

That would be a hard point to sell, but I feel that getting a team like United back into champions league will be easier than getting a team like Spurs. It is not rocket science. If you have great players, it makes the job easier for the manager. United will most likely continue to outspend our rivals which gives Pochettino the opportunity to buy these top players and create a better team than his Spurs. The rebuild won’t be that much to be honest. We spent £130m on our defense. So all we need to improve is our midfield and attack. With Bruno most likely coming, that will make the rebuilding process easier this summer, but we will definitely need more players that suits Pochettino philosophy to get to the level where he can take us.

As such Pochettino shouldnt mind one season in the Europa league, where the pressure won’t be to high in that he must win the league in his first season. But rather get us back in the champions league like what he has done comfortably at Spurs. Our standards has fallen so low that our next new manager, the only way is up at the moment. There will be greater job security in this job than a potential champion league team job because it will be difficult to do worse than our current manager.

Better manager will probably demand more from the board and owners... and this is where it can start to be ugly for Poch.

The PLAYERS won those games by playing their own game I feel. MAYBE an ole tactic worked but it is still unplanned primarily
