5 years without a trophy - Further away than ever

Meh, who needs trophies? Smiles and progress are all that matters.

Really should be trying harder to get this monkey off our back

One if the PL CL or FA cup or he has to go.

That is one opportunity gone.... not good.

I know some people poo-poo this Carabao trophy, but for Manchester Utd. any trophy would be good (especially for the manager) and the good thing about this one is, you can win it in February and then concentrate on more prized tournaments.

This will just add to the pressure too.
Agreed. People can turn their noses up at this competition all they want but winning it in 2017 was still a good moment. Especially in the fashion we did with Zlatan.

All on the FA Cup or another trophyless season it will be

We need to concentrate on the league, too many fixtures in between. I reckon dropping out of the CL might do the trick provided were last so we avoid europa aswell. That way we can play our starting xi every week with a full weeks rest.

Not my line of thought.

Sure but we were really toxic in that 3 month spell under Mourinho, who cares about cups and titles?

When your desperate for a trophy they all count, we ain’t in a position to pick and choose what we want to win. Massive opportunity for a trophy gone I mean let’s be real the CL and PL we have very low chance and the FA Cup is the easiest of the three comps we are in and that’s even hard!

I’m not sure what you mean mate.
You said 05 onwards. Arsenal did win a lot of cups as a shit team to be fair to them. You just didn’t state an end to your timeframe unless I misread your post?

Out of the league cup at the 1st hurdle to Moyes’s squad players deserves a smile Ole .

1 down

Only 4 more to feck up :wenger:

More games for them while we make a run for the league & Fa cup double

City have won it what, five years in a row? It hasn't really affected their performance in general. So no, it's not good news. Besides, they rotate heavily and play youngsters too.

I am just messing . I am so annoyed right now that I am trying to take refuge in humour rather than writing what I actually feel

You didn’t misread it. I just meant the ~10 year spell after they won the FA Cup. But I suppose you wouldn’t know that unless you are a mind reader as I indeed did not say the timeframe I meant!

Although it's the least attractive trophy it still might have been nice to win it. Hardly a catastrophe though.

I do wonder when Ole does win a trophy, possibly this season or in his 5th season next year will people say 'I told you so' but neglect the point that another manager might have won several during that time. Ignoring the Ole out/Ole in crap it does look pretty bad objectively, especially considering the huge amount of money spent.

Don't worry guys, big trophies are coming back to the club. You heard it here first!

I've been saying this is a make or break season for Ole especially with CR7's arrival. Other clubs have won trophies with lesser squads so it's inexcusable that we could be realistically looking at 5 years without a trophy.

Even if you compare him to Sir Alex and his slow start, latter still won his 1st trophy 4 years into his tenure.

It’s a bad period trophy wise and it’s the reason I was upset about going out of the league cup. We are starting to turn into that Spurs we’re under Poch in getting top 4 easily but not winning anything.
To be fair too Ole this is the first season where we have a very good squad but Villarreal for a trophy was a easy one

We only have 3 too play for now and we be outsiders for PL and CL. This season is make or break though as fair enough we don’t win a trophy but not challenging for the league or doing decent in the CL will be a failure

Gee whiz, that does look really bad. I've never seen those numbers compared to the other big teams. Bit surprised that Pool are over 400 days, sadly it felt like they were winning things all the time. How can Arsenal be ahead of us. :(

Must be the FA cup last to last season I guess?

Don't worry, we are clearly going for only the biggest trophies now - small cups are beneath us.

That's an extremely rich statement considering we've not won anything since 2017 and are hardly in a position to cherry pick the trophies we want

Ole was accused of losing too many semi finals and finals. He ratified that and yet you still criticise the man.

Proof that there a plenty of ABU’s posing as United on here as there are on all United forums. We get knocked out of the sodding league cup and it’s supposed to be a big deal.

I’m flabbergasted that Joel and co have not already fired Ole after our Milk Cup exit. What kind of Mickey Mouse organisation are we running here?
