2024 UEFA Champions League final — Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid — Wembley, Sat 1 June 20:00 BST

Seems like yesterday that they finally got La Decima. Crazy to think they could make it 15 now.
Yeah true. That Ramos' goal in stoppage time was huge. Also seems like it's how their history in competition goes - 6 European Cups between 1956 and 1966, then a 32 years wait until 1998. 3 Champions league between 1998 and 2002. Then 12 years without winning it and now 5/6 CLs between 2014 and 2024. They have more CL wins than many big clubs have league titles.

Gonna be an easy win for Real Madrid, don't even feel like watching the final.

Looking back to the last decade of UCL and the teams participating, this is by far the weakest year, many 'super teams' coming to an end of a cycle and others beginning to rise but far from peaking.

But it was also the most entertaining UCL overall in a long while.

No fecking way that’s real.

Doubt those pictures are legit, but it is pretty fascinating how Sule went from looking like the result of some kind of Nazi super soldier genome project to being Madrid era Hazard on stilts.

Without wishing to belittle Borussia and their fantastic tournament, they are a fantastic opponent for Madrid.
It will be very difficult, their fans are going to be very close and they are going to run and be intense, however I think they lack the Kane/Mbappe/Haaland/Griezmann type.
A super crack that makes you play a bad game and win with a chance.
I think they will need more than one chance to score, and if they do, I think we have the ability to draw and not lose in 90 minutes.

If vini pays like he did against Bayern we should win without too much trouble but as it's a final the longer it goes without a team scoring the tension starts to build up and at that point nobody wants to mess up. All in all I'm glad the final is against them, not because I think they are an easy team but more due to the fact I hate PSG, Manchester City and Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund is a cool team regardless. :D

I have read that the appointed referee is very lenient with fouls and lets play. We will have to be attentive and adapt to that.
I have an event and won't be able to watch the final so I hope you all keep up your lucky routines (watch out @GatoLoco ). Mine in this edition has been to stop watching the game if we were behind and wait for the "gooool" on some Twitter profile, preferably on the account of Juanito's son (j7_roberto).

Is it me, or there is not much hype around this game?
It’s to be expected that there’d be little hype in England now that no PL teams are present. Plenty of media coverage other places in Europe

I’m under impression that even Spanish media are a bit bored with Madrid being in the final again

Everybody expects Real to win. It's not a clash of giants that you could hype up.

Dortmund finished 5th in the Bundesliga so I guess them winning this means 6th place Frankfurt qualify for the Champions League as well.

I would like to see Dortmund win this.

This doesn't make any sense

But it's true and works like this:
- the Bundesliga has 4 CL spots
- the CL winner gets a CL spot if he isn't qualified through the league (which would be the case as Dortmund is 5th)
- the two best leagues of last season get an additional CL starter (which are Serie A and Bundesliga) -> that bonus spot would be the 6th placed BL team Frankfurt.

With so many teams in the CL next season and none of them being able to drop into the EL, it should be a walk in the park for Utd to win the EL. (In normal circumstances)

The nerves for the match begin. I think I'll finally be able to watch a bit of the second half.
Courtois, Carva,Rudiger,Nacho, Mendy, Fede, Camavinga, Antonio, Jude, Rodrygo and Vini.
Unbeatable occasion for our children and grandchildren to cloud any football debate with the "yes but we've got 15"

We are all Madrid todlay, I would hate to see a club like dortmund win it while white washing and promoting Weapon manufacturer responsible for the death of thousands of children. Disgusting club.

I'm hoping the weapons division is a tiny part of a company that mainly deals with rehoming blind three legged puppies.

A few of my close friends are Dortmund supporters, so I’ll be cheering for them tonight. One of my German work colleagues even managed to get a ticket for 600 Euros the other night, no idea how he did that since he doesn’t have a season ticket. You never know which kind of trick Terzic will pull out of the bag again

Whoever Magreed play against I always cheer for the opposition and tomorrow will be no different.
Surely it must be time for Sancho day!

Hate the weapons manufactures, absolutely no issue with authoritarian regimes running on the slave labour. What a virtue signaling knob

How does he have no issues with authoritarian regimes? Perhaps you're the virtue signaller here?

Oh, so i can keep him on ignore?

Regarding the game: not a lot of hype since everyone is expecting a 3-0 for Real.

I might have missed his sad emojis and tweets about cheering against City or Newcastle

You certainly seem to have missed his comments about Qatar hosting the world cup?

Have you been posting sad emojis on the sponsorships of the club you support yourself? With their sponsorship deals in Qatar, Saudi and UAE?

thanks for bringing this here. Didnt know this. Hope Madrid stuff them.

Go Sancho! Go Dortmund!!
Hope you are like us, no one believe in us for winning the FA Cup.

How the hell did the Dortmund board think this was a good idea besides needing the money? Yes, it's a local company but Jesus wept in this political climate being sponsored by one of the world's biggest defence companies seems incredibly short sighted.

Imagine Dortmund players holding a banner "stop the wars" , while promoting their sponsors who benefit from the death of Yemeni children for 8 years.

Delusion. People in positions of power have a habit of derailing at some point because they are surrounded by yes sayers. You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. Watzke did the latter, IMO, after saving the BVB from bankruptcy.

Anyone know how to watch it for free? Does Discovery+ offer it without me needing to upgrade my pass to a paid one? Travelling in Albania at the moment. Thank you!
