Real have been there for the taking tonight but Dortmund have paid for a lack of quality in individuals. Adeyemi and Fullkrug in particular. Plucky runners who get into lots of dangerous positions, but just lack that top level quality.
They’ve given it a great shot tonight, but man for man they just aren’t very good. To be honest they are extremely lucky to be there after a very favorable run to the final, and PSG hitting the woodwork something like 7 times across two legs.
Still, good for football to have them there instead of Qatar FC, but they were always going to be made to pay for fluffing their chances.
