It might have made a difference if Harris had a bad night and Trump won. But everyone expected Harris to win because anyone lucid can beat Trump in a debate, so yeah. I don't think she smacked him down as hard as Hillary did in 2016, and that didn't help Hillary sadly.
Trump definitely threw JD under the bus. Not sure how JD continues to try and work with him.

She didn’t really answer how she flip-flopped on fracking, decriminalizing border crossings and just went on a different tangent. Had a decent debate otherwise though, especially on abortion.
I think all kamala could have expected out of this is enthusiasm for her. She got immediate clips to turn into ads and social media posts of trump being crazy. Which campaign has already put up in some places. She needs insane voter turnout and this does the job it won't give her some magical 10-point clear bounce anywhere but democrat voters like a fighter. And someone that looks like they can win.
