This gymnastics events are brutal, all those years of training and 1 mistake ruins it all.
3 gold and 2 bronze
If Kellie can do the business it will be our best ever
Track and field is usually where US pick up a lot no?Anyone have a view on who is likely to take the overall lead in medals? China has a solid lead in golds over the US, but I'm not sure about the disciplines remaining.

I'd 7-1 be a France fanChina 7-1 against France in hockey.
Poor day for GB today, thought both Jarman& Whitlock had good shots at gold and now neither will end up close. The sailing one also ended up in bronze
"Random"Judo team final going to extra fight, division picked at random, picks Riner's. Couldn't make this up
One shido away now
Won by Ippon in the end. Never in doubtWe cheated well.
Thi judo final is an absolute disgrace. Pathetic
très intelligentI'd 7-1 be a France fan

It can be won just by touching with a bit more force. See the 2008 100m butterfly. Phelps actually touched the plate after CavicNo different to many other sports. Swimming for example where the training regime really is brutal can be won on the touch of the pad just because a swimmer has a bit of a longer arm.

Ah cheers, that’s why I’m not a judge. I guess they’re looking for things that us mere mortals don’t see.Apparently he said in Eurosport interview that didn't get the degree of landing he wanted
I was saying similar to my wife. I guess one misstep in a race can send you tumbling but it does feel cruel when the stakes are so high and the margins so thin as they are in gymnastics. This gymnastics events are brutal, all those years of training and 1 mistake ruins it all.
Saito didn’t attack. But in the end, Riner won with an Ippon.Saito wasn't very active and went easily to the ground. The same was true for Dicko earlier.
9:20 pm local. 3:20 pm ET.Women's 100m coming up in a bit right?
