2024 Summer Olympics (Paris)

This Duplantis guy doesn't look challenged yet and he seems disinterested at these heights. They should've just started him at 6m.

He can jump 6 in his sleep. His event starts when everyone else is out and he can try and better his WR

Think the outside lanes are slightly better. Wider radius so less pressure
Is this true? Always assumed outside lanes were preferred for optics. You have a head start which can stress out your competitors. Bit like starting first in a pen shootout.

Feel like I read about that at some point, could be entirely making it up though. Could've been ice skating as well :D

What would be the disadvantage of a wide lane?
More people are behind you at the start, and fewer people in front of you to aim for, so it’s more difficult to judge your pace. That’s not such a problem for the better runners so they’ll definitely prefer a wider lane. In a wide lane but inside your rival is ideal though

Don’t the fastest qualifiers get lanes 3-6 with the slowest in lanes 1-2 & 7-8. At least that’s how it always used to be. Lanes 3-6 are the preferred lanes I’m sure.

Hassan with her first medal on the 5k. Also running the 10k and the fecking marathon.

They were saying how slow the start of the 5k was they must have absolutely blitzed the last bit as they weren't far off Olympic record
