the Paris agreement alone makes this a huge election for the entire world, IMO

Absolutely. Massive changes to decarbonize our economies are essential in the next years. The world cannot afford its largest economy to stay away from fighting climate change for at least another four years.

One thing i'd like to know. If Biden does win this, can the idiot run again in 2024 as he will have only done one term now?

Yes. However, he will be four years older and fatter. He might also be caught up quite a few legal issues.

Honestly, at this point it looks to me that the American political system as a whole will break down sooner or later. The hyper-polarisation and the breakdown of any sort of consensus and unwritten rules between the two big parties means it just doesn't work anymore. And that will be increasingly obvious in the coming years, regardless of who wins this election in the end.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me. But then again, that gets back to the heart of why Biden was chosen: winning above all else. If he doesn't do the first part then his role in the wider context becomes more important, which supporters dismissed altogether months ago. It seems a worthwhile time for reflection even if the assessment is still this was the right move, but the reflexive response that there's nothing to consider, nothing to reflect upon, of course it was right...that seems damaging in the long run.

Ha ha McSally losing her Senate seat. Couldn't even stand up to the Trump.

I think the DNC shoot themselves in the foot by smearing Tulsi Gabbard as a Russian asset. She has great centrist appeal, earned her stripes as a multi tour veteran, would have out-debated Trump with ease and put on a more energizing performance on the road.

This implies Tulsi Gabbard would be the Democratic candidate for President if she wasn't "smeared". The truth is that she had no chance regardless. Besides, "centrist appeal" is exactly what got Biden nominated.

Who is this Nate Silver guy whose tweets are showing up here regularly and are his predictions/projections usually half decent?

Edit - actually haven't I seen his name for sports coverage?

People and their market updates

Yes but his niece said if Trump loses he's going to be in the courts and have a rough 4 years. He'll be 78 in 2024 (same as Biden now) but he's in a worse state as he doesn't look after himself so not very likely he'll run in 2024.

So we agree they are rarely wrong. What a waste of time that was.

It's a loose definition of nearly being wrong when their assessment changes thoroughly the journey. By definition they've been wrong as often as they've been right in this case.

The only one R area left to be counted is Lander county, but it alone doesn’t have the votes to overcome the 9k deficit, and most of the ballots left to be counted were mails sent into Clark/Washoe (heavy D/slightly lean D) on E-Day.

Biden to win by around 20k.

I think he can but if he loses to such a weak candidate I can't see them giving him another shot at it
