I remember one time when NRK, the Norwegian state broadcaster, was out interviewing people in some American city. The guy they were interviewing said the word "feck", and immediately apologized, saying something like "you can't say that on TV". The reporter replied "this is Norwegian TV, you can say anything".

:D

This might well become Trump's last gasp attempt to win the election (since he's tried everything else and it hasn't worked). Start a war with Iran on some pretext and then issue rallying calls to patriotism.

That might work in a normal year, but no way would it work now. Trump has so polarized America that we might vote for the aliens if there was an alien invasion tomorrow.

I've heard that, in the old days at least, some stylists would use sugar waterwhen styling hair because it does some nice things without being stiff like with hairspray. It could be they used that for Pence, which might explain why the fly showed up and stayed for so long.
Nope - it’s because he is a fecking brimstone steaming demon released from the gates of hell to wreak havoc amongst us.

Flies recognise this.

Sex or profanity? EVIL!!

Mass shootings? Those are fine, 2nd Amendment!

I hate my country. Is Canada hiring?
Been a while, but I remember all the uproar over the 7/16 second (or thereabouts) exposure of Janet Jackson’s nipple in the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show. What an utter embarrassment that whole kerfuffle that was.

To be fair we don't care much about people getting shot either*

*Unless they're white.

Sigh. I am going to crawl into this excellent (2nd) bottle of St. Bernardus 12 and cry.

Janet Jackson hot though.

Local pub is the largest purchaser of 12 in the US and has it on tap. Once a year the brewery sends a special microbrew to them as a thank you. I love beer.
On tap? In the US?? Where. Love that brew (who doesn't?) - now I wish i would have stopped at a liquor store on my way home to pick up a bottle.

A man of taste! Went for a tour at their brewery in Watou. Absolutely recommended if anyone is ever in Belgium post-Covid. Probably the best value for money tourist thing I've ever done. Got to taste samples at their bar and they sent each of us home with one of these at the end, and the whole thing was something ridiculous like £15 per head. I went before they had finished the new rooftop bar, though. It's supposed to be even better now.

Of course, while in the Poperinge area there's also Westvleteren to be had, which is a must-do for any Trappist afficionado.

I

Ill allow WI to be 2nd to MI in great beer.

Bells is great ( hopslam has caused soooo many hangovers), but every corner in downtown Madison is a microbrewery, so I’ll disagree purely because I am bored and could use a beer fight.

Bye the way, moving on to Alligash’s Tripel. It’s passable.

On TAP? Do they even create it in casks??? That's pretty cool.

Not my favorite beer mind, but having excellent access to Belgian beers is absolutely :drool::drool: I assume they serve it in the right glass, too?

On moments like this I miss living in the Netherlands!

I do like me some Bells but its become a bit of our Budweiser these days considering it more or less went national. I do want to continue a beer fight but at the same time I feel bad doing it in this thread. Wasnt there a beer one somewhere?

It is clear though Ill have to visit WI again (only been once for a short business trip to Milwaukee) - to sample all the beers to make a proper determination.

P.s. You know Grand Rapids has been voted Beer City USA like several times right? And thats in Michigan. Just saying.

Check out the link I posted. That bar is one of the reasons I agreed to move here.

This place. Fuking neighborhood gem.

There was an incredible app to order boutique craft beer a couple of years back called Tavour, it has suspended business due to struggles with local couriers I remember buying Revolution, Third Space, & other gems (even stout beer conditioned in used Harlan Cabernet barrels). It unlocked regional craft beer to the nation. It was amazing.

So I’ll see you all over here (well down below) for a beer discussion.

Ah, I read over that. Yes, that's pretty great. Gulden Draak every day within reach! That'd be cool. (Even if Piraat is better ;) ) Good selection of Gueuze also.

Biermarkt in Ottawa isn't bad, but Ontario is IPA land, and I don't like beers with high IBU content. Luckily, Québec is just around the corner.

Oh, you mean the beer thread was at that link! Sorry. :wenger:
