Now starts the process of canvassing Eboue to vote for Biden
I'm not going to vote for a rapist. No one else should either.
Not read the article. Based on the polling and changes within it, the "swing" bloc are the electability voters that stuck with Biden till January, started moving to Bernie in Jan, started leaving Biden for Bernie and Pete after Iowa/NH, gave Bernie a lead after NV, and then coalesced quickly back to Biden after SC and the triple endorsement. The core left vote was probably about 25% while this faction was probably 50% in itself.
Why?
It's pretty shitty but progressives are fighting a losing battke in every area in America. The ease by which Biden has won this Primary makes me shudder at what could have happened in November if Sanders got there somehow. America is not ready. Biden is a geriatric ffs.

The progressive movement is still growing in America. Sanders is merely a harbinger of what's to come once the youth of today (teenagers/twentysomethings) begin to take voting a bit more seriously.
33.3% is basically 0%.
How long will that take?
What I find wierd is how fairly bog-standard first world policies are sees as commie extreme. I grew up in nigeria thinking every developed country had free healthcare for its citizens. Didn't think it had anything to do with politics, right or left. You call yourself a developed country, you provide care for all your citizens...standard.
My sense is we will start to see a bit of serious change once the aforementioned younger progressive voters begin to mobilize more seriously - beyond just being loud voices on twitter. If we see something as little as 2-5 more youth participation in elections, it will have a massive effect at all levels.

I'm curious which would be tougher to win over... a hard core Trump or Sanders voter. I'd have very happily voted Sanders but I wouldn't consider myself a hard core supporter. I won't be voting for Biden but in my very blue state it really doesn't matter.
Hopefully you are not from Michigan or Florida.
Yeah the electability argument for the Sanders campaign was almost impossible to make as they needed to attack that past few decades of american politics and argue that Trump was the logical outcome of the system rather than a absurd break from it, so don't vote for the former Obama guy but well......the swing bloc and really all of the democratic base want nothing more than a Obama 2.0. It also would have required Sanders to risk attacking Biden and the Democratic Party to the point where it could of potentially helped Trump win a second term, which was something Sanders was never willing to do. Their only hope was trying to by pass these voters with youth turnout but when that failed, the campaign was finished.
It's hard to see the Sanders campaign as anything other than a odd blip in electoral history. It seems recent american politics tells us less about the viability of ''socialism'' and more about the decline of both the major parties( Trump and Biden are both truly awful candidates).
Both sides were guilty of it. I didn't really follow her campaign closely so don't know much about her policy swings.

The Republican party are a complete mess and the democratic establishment are lucky to have them as their opposition.
I do honestly think for the democratic establishment to be defeated its going to have to take the Republicans to move to center and form some credible opposition forcing the democrats left.
Its basically how Tories got back into power in the UK with Cameron to defeat Blairism.
But as long as the Republicans continue to be batshit crazy, putting up terrible candidates, the democrats will sit around the center ground and wont need to listen to their progressive base.

Gutted to hear Sanders has dropped out but not surprised. The sad thing is that all Sanders supporters are now going to be pressured to get behind a candidate who hasn't got a clue what is going on and can barely speak for a few minutes without sounding incoherent.
From my experience, the really hardcore folks tend to be in the least important states, so it's irrelevant if they all are vocal online about sitting out an election.
I'm sure that guy must be some Russian bot, I've never come across any person that passionately against those issues.
