2020 US Elections | Biden certified as President | Dems control Congress

Plenty of organizations remain private. Bloomberg LP is private.
Haha, why bring up Bloomberg when it's not even comparable to trump org. Think of tv televangelists, that would put you in the right neighborhood. Outside of a few country clubs and some property management there's nothing there.

New debate game for senior presidential candidates: how many times can you say Obama without mispronouncing .

Negative messaging doesn't influence the left and right the same way. The left care more about these things.
Painting Biden as a bumbling fool will affect Biden. Not so much for Trump.

I've not looked at the numbers myself, but apparently last night Sanders was on Maddow last night saying he's got turnout up because he's energized the youth to vote. She then rattled off numbers to show youth voting is down from 4 years ago. I did notice she said proportion of youth vote compared to other ages is down rather than actual numbers of youth voters.

There will be VP debates, right? You can throw off pence by saying early on in the debate that all he says is things like "strong leadership of president trump" etc. I don't think he can go a sentence without saying it.

Insurance stocks have spiked since Tuesday. Tells you all you need to know.

Totally agree. His policies for most part are common sense, and implemented in the majority of Western countries. He should have run with them, instead of giving himself a tag which is extremely unpopular in the US.

He also didn't do himself any favor with the Cuba comments in the debate. What he said is right, but at the same time, he should have known that it will be spun in a very dangerous way.

Bernie is dead in the water unless the Pro-Trump media starts spinning the "Biden is slow/unhealthy" reports more dominantly and it gets some traction.
Or Warren drops out and direct all her vocal female supporters to drum up support for Sanders instead of against him. I fear she might make a "vice-presedental" deal with Biden.

DNC want Biden. Trump + allies want Biden. The corporate world + influential rich people want anybody but Bernie --> Trump and Biden are perfect for them.

The cases most voters seem to care about (Healthcare, a living wage, Climate) strangely does not seem to have any impact on their voting given that Bernie(+Warren) is not far above the rest.

Bernie's camp need to push for there to be a debate in the next couple of days. The next planned debate is after the next set of primaries.

I was sure that was what you were referring to with Pence. I haven't seen Pence talk that much (I actively avoid him because he's so god damn boring), but if he's got a weakness like this it can be brutal.
He literally doesn't say a thing without first praising dear leader and his strong leadership. Make him look foolish saying it early on and I think we'll have the Rubio moment again.

I don't think Biden is hated as much as Clinton. Only Bernie supporters seem to hate him now and they keep telling Afro-Americans to hate him when they clearly don't.

Agree. He starts better this time, but so does Trump. Which is why even with Bernie I'm not that confident. 2016 was as close to a lock as possible, this time ...

This is just political malpractice. Bernie should have at least tried to get Clyburn's endorsement.

A key message for progressive politicians going forward is to build relationships with important constituencies.

I suspect AOC is posting subtle criticism of Bernie's campaign with this tweet she made yesterday. The points she makes is correct, but its too late for Bernie to start doing things now to make a difference in this primary.

Sanders condemns his supporters' 'ugly, personal attacks' against Warren

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow asked Sanders about attacks some of his supporters have made, tweeting images of snakes and even calling for Warren to be challenged in a primary in her next Massachusetts Senate election.

Sanders told Maddow he was “actually disgusted” and “aghast” by online vitriol directed at Warren.

“We condemn that,” Sanders said. “We want our supporters to be [talking] about the issues.

“[We] don't need ugly, personal attacks against Sen. Warren, or anyone else for that measure,” he added.

He said he had a cordial discussion with Warren as she reassesses her campaign but would not discuss the private conversation with his colleague and opponent.

Warren had no public events Wednesday after a disappointing finish in the 15 races held on Super Tuesday. Her campaign said it was taking a day to assess whether Warren still has a path to the nomination.

Asked whether he would consider Warren as a running mate, Sanders said it’s “too early to talk about that.”

However, he said he would "love to sit down and talk to her about what kind of role she could pay in our administration,” adding that he has a lot of respect for the senator.
It's taken him a while to say this, but it's good that he finally has. Though I think a lot of damage has already been done to the reputation of his supporters (and, by extension, him).

In this thread alone, there have been 62 uses of the word 'snake'.

Not to mention sell out, bitch etc. AOC has been termed as a clout chaser by Eboue because she didn't endorse Sanders early. Stupid but hey what can you do. When you want pureblood, you need pureblood

Sanders has constantly denounced those type of people, but again the media won't acknowledge it and continue to pelt this point that he doesn't.

Same thing with Cuba, no matter how many times he says he doesn't support authoritarian governments they will still say that he does even though he said the same thing Obama did.

That's how the corrupt media will make Biden win. They continue peddling lies till everyone believes them, which they have. Like how they, with no backing evidence, think Biden is more electable than Bernie.

One thing worth baring in mind with these Bernie supporters who have posted these vile comments is that they are a tiny tiny minority. The thing that people tend to forget is that Bernie has like 10x more supporters on places like Twitter than other candidates.

There is a zero chance Sanders loses the elections if he survives the primaries.

I'd actually say there is a zero chance he loses the primaries if he's in play for a few more weeks. Which he is, isn't?

I’d say the chances are significant higher than zero, otherwise he would be dominating the race right now.
