Trump has legitimised and normalized insanity. These people are insane. He has weaponized it so much so they have considerable voting power.
One thing we must never forget, he breezed passed Obama's popular vote total after killing 300k and 3k per day. He is on tape understanding how bad the virus was, there are now emails from his officials lamenting young people going into lockdown and NOT spreading the virus. He INCREASED his voter turnout. Trump was 100% right when he said he could shoot someone in the middle of the street and get away with it. The only saving grace is that he is politically dumber than a plank of wood and wasn't able to actually foment an authoritarian takeover. The person out there with the smarts and will to actually do that has seen this unfold and i can only hope that they are kept out of the GOP circles long enough to not actually win and carry it out.
Yes, this is the really scary thing. Trump is an idiot but he has left behind a playbook ready to be exploited by someone smarter.

This guy was appointed by Trump to be his National Security Advisor - before he resigned after information surfaced that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about the nature and content of his communications with Russian ambassador to the United States.
His "national security advice" is now to stage a military coup and over-turn the election result. I've no high hopes that Trump isn't desperate enough to try it.

If only Establishment Democrats were more ruthless against the Republicans.
I'd settle for them being equally as ruthless. But lets be honest here, an establishment Dem is more like a republican, even some of the MAGAites, then they are like the progressive wing.
As i´ve helped Bernie Sanders quite a bit in the past i have to say most of the people in the leadership positions in the progressive wing are not very political savvy or good enough to take the progressive movement further than it is now. I will even predict that unless more politically intelligent people takes over the movement it will regress in the future. I helped Bernie Sanders and his team creating all the fuss and momentum from 2017 to mid 2018 as i´m able to combine economic knowledge + rhetoric in politics to a degree you need to succeed. But they actually cheated me out of credit of the work i did to help them. You simply don´t feck over the guy that was making it happen for you. This is simply extremely stupid to say the least. The progressive top at the moment are more interested in their own personal interests than advancing the movement. It´s no surprise to me the right wing democrats are out maneuvering these guys from a political point of view.
