What's more worrying here is that this would've probably worked had the election been closer.

He tried to insert a subtle laugh after his comment, something he can likely walk back on later, "I was joking." Think he was speaking to an audience of one but millions will hear it for them as well. He then talked about transitioning to whoever is in office on 21 Jan. It's a ludicrous thing to say, clearly placating to Trump's ego, but it's dangerous and he should be charged accordingly (if possible).

Even on his way out Trump still manages to make a mockery out of America. That's all he's really accomplished. The whole world is watching and laughing at mighty America because of him.

Yep - this simple thing is what's so maddening. Even after the election they're just weakening America's standing. Im sure many on here will claim we were never a beacon of democracy to begin with - but that's literally what these supposed patriots are saying right now. And they really dont seem to get that.

King George III must be laughing in his grave right now.

So the official in charge of investigating election fraud resigned after Barrs memo. What I dont get, why not stay and do an above board investigation resulting in the total sum off feck all. Now Trump can replace him with one of his sheep.

Yeah I dont quite that either.
Because yes then shit like this will happen:
https://www.politico.com/amp/news/2020/11/10/pentagon-top-policy-official-resigns-435693

At the same time - if your boss did completely f-ed up shit and contradicting everything you think your office should stand for, all the while your boss is serving someone whos cronies will have no reservations to push you under the buss publicly... Would you want to stick around? Would take someone of extremely strong conviction. Even then - that investigation you're suggesting will simply be brushed off of corrupt or fake or whatever. What purpose does that serve then? Accountability and impartiality is completely dead.

Because the investigation is a ruse as there is nothing to investigate. An honest report would just be altered by whatever means before it hit the public view by Barr and his cronies.

If you have some degree of integrity and backbone, you quit like he did and give a middle finger salute to the regime. Any honest investigation would be rendered pointless in the end by your superiors.

Wasn't his casino a money laundering front?
I read that he was jealous that his 1st wife was getting plaudits for running one so he built another across the street to compete and bankrupt both. He makes money being a terrible business man.

Trump supporters, his sycophants and acolytes are literally the weakest bunch of arseholes I've ever witnessed.

And then go public and spill the beans on everything you've heard or witnessed. For a country that claims to be home of the brave there is a serious lack of balls.

Surely this is starting edge towards treason territory?

Edge towards? It is treason.

This is the Secretary of State saying that there will be no transition to Biden, that Trump will be President for a 2nd term, and thus by implication that they will ignore the election result.

With statements like this, coupled with the Defense Sec. being fired and with rumours that other non-loyalists will soon be fired (like the CIA and FBI heads), it increases the worries that Trump is seriously considering something bat-shit crazy like a coup d'etat.

He didn't directly say that, he just said there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration. It's a bait designed to generate headlines, and the response has been predictable. I don't believe he committed treason and the little smirk at the end shows he knows what he's doing.

Trump continues defiant streak — orders federal agencies to prepare February budget like ‘nothing happened’

In his latest move to defy election results, President Donald J. Trump has ordered federal agencies to continue preparing the administration’s budget On Monday, the Trump White House instructed senior government officials to not cooperate with Biden’s transition team, igniting a potential legal battle..

The inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden is Jan. 20, 2020, however, Trump has still not acknowledged his failure to regain his post in the Oval Office. The White House budget proposal is typically issued in February, which would be at least two weeks after President Trump is scheduled to depart the White House. The Biden administration is scheduled to submit their own budget plan to Congress early next year.

On Monday, the Trump White House instructed senior government officials to not cooperate with Biden’s transition team, igniting a potential legal battle.

“They’re pretending nothing happened,” one government official involved in the federal budget process said. “We’re all supposed to pretend this is normal, and do all this work, while we know we’re just going to have to throw it away.”

Chantel Boyens, former senior OMB official under the George W. Bush and Obama administrations, said it is common for outgoing administrations to work on aspects of the budget after losing an election, but not to this capacity.

“The preparations going on now are not surprising given the administration’s position on the outcome of the election,” said Boyens, now a policy associate at the Urban Institute, a nonpartisan think tank. “At the point at which you know the outcome of the election, it would not make sense to continue formulating policy recommendations for a new budget to be put out by the outgoing administration.”

 I like big butts, I cannot lie.

No reason for anyone to get all riled up now. Things would only get clearer as time goes by.

Date for official declaration of elections:

PA - 10th Nov (Sec State mentions that disputed ballots received after Nov 3rd is not enough to make a difference)
WI - 17th Nov (Biden has 20.5k lead though less than 1% to avoid recount. Not sure if Trump will ask for recount considering the margin)
GA - 20th Nov (Biden has 20.5k lead though less than 0.5% to avoid recount. Not sure if Trump will ask for recount considering the margin)
NC - 24th Nov (Trump wins)
MI - 23rd Nov (Biden has 140k lead far greater than <2000 recount requirement. Not sure if Trump will ask for recount considering the margin)
AZ - 30th Nov (Biden has 15k lead far greater than <200 recount requirement. Not sure if Trump will ask for recount considering the margin)

Current lawsuits from GOP in PA and GA have been summarily dismissed due to lack of evidence. So will be the case in other states too.

It's just a case of Trump needing too many votes from too many recounts in too many states. Highly unlikely. As these states start declaring offically, we'll see Trump backed with only one way out....straight outta WH doors.

 Understandable and probably not worth the effort for academic papers on history - but Hungarian pronunciation is actually fairly regular, in that it follows rules with almost no exceptions. Once you know the rules, you can pronounce anything, unlike in English where even a fairly good grasp of the language means feck all when you encounter a new word.
Oh no doubt. Once I got over the initial head scratching it made good sense... which is something that absolutely doesn’t apply to English.

Is Trump broke?

Let me rephrase that - When you have millions of dollars but you owe tens of millions to banks and other entities, had more business failures than succeses, and declared bankruptcy more than once which you only came out of because of other people's money - are you actually rich?

I’ve lost all faith in the US acting like a democracy.
Time for secession again.
This time it'll be the Atlantic & Pacific coastal states (minus NC, SC and fcukin FL) vs the rest of the Cuntry. The reds in the blue states can move to red states, etc.
Big migration at 1st then another one once the reds figure they can't make it work economically without NY, WA and CA.

I can give you over 70 million reasons why it won't.
Most of them will be regular people who like Trump but not enough to kick up a fuss. There're some militia types and some nut jobs but for the most part his supporters will move on once Biden is sworn in.

As long as the Pacific and Coastal states adopt those of us in MI/WI/IL who believe Q is just a letter of the alphabet that's rarely used or a character from James Bond.

Hollywood used to entertain the rest of us once upon a time. Now it's the country in general, the US has become one of the best comedies ever thanks to their orange president.
