Let's say Biden wins and Trump leaves the White House, however reluctantly. If he then wanted to run again in 2024, would the Republican Party then have primaries to select the candidate, or would it just be Trump? The idea of Republican primaries with Cruz, Rubio and the rest of the gang trying to take the nomination from Trump is mouthwatering.
They do their primaries, but I reckon he'd be a favorite given what the GOP base is like these days.

It would have to be primaries again since there'd be no incumbent Republican president.

Trump will be a very different animal in 2024 though - an even more ageing, fatter, delusional crook, most likely up to his eyeballs in debts he'd be struggling to payback and legal issues. Who am I kidding he'd win that primary on a landslide.

You say that but Kellyanne Conway was saying Biden was out of order for saying he’s going to win on Fox yesterday...
She doesn’t have any actual view on anything she just parrots the party line regardless of brazen hypocrisy or total lack of merit.

Do you honestly think the next four years are going to be kind enough to Trump that he's in any sort of shape to run for office?

If a Trump runs in 2024 I think it'll be Don Jr or Ivanka.

There would be primaries.

Biden's saying "count every vote"
Trump's saying "count every legal vote"

If you asked most people which they prefer (without knowing who said what) most people would say the second

And the problem is, Trump's people only need to find one illegal vote for Biden (and I'm sure there will be) to support their argument
Jesus that has to be one of the most ill informed, stupid things I've read on here in a while.

Huh? If I look at Lackawanna county in 2016 Clinton won by some 3.5k votes or also 3.5 pts (cool 100k votes county). Biden is up by 9.5k votes or 8.5 pts (higher turnout)
CNN just said the % split is almost the same. Huh.

I can't see Jr running, he's useless. Ivanka seems to be the least stupid out of the kids and she's been pretty quiet lately...

When Trump loses he’s going to go after the GOP and FOX bigly. I don’t think there’s much chance of him running in 2024 as a Republican.

Just because one vote is dodgy, that doesn't mean there's widespread voting fraud. Just because you have one bad chip, that doesn't mean the rest of the plate is inedible. Just because I once managed to go an entire hour fiercely hammering away at a leggy Zumba instructor after downing shots of Sambuca and cuntbuster all night, that doesn't mean that I'm not normally a three minute man.

There’s primaries even if the incumbent is running again. They just don’t typically get serious challenges.
Yep, I suppose my point is there definitely won't be an assumed candidate, especially when they don't have the white house. It'll be another campaign of Trump humiliating the Zodiac Killer and his wife yet again, little Marco doing whatever he does, Rand Paul being an edgy Libertarian and Mike Huckabee somehow still bothering with only an endorsement from a 102 year old Chuck Norris as his support base.

If Trump loses, he's going to be drowning in legal battles. I'd wager a lot of damage will be done to him over the 4 years and Repubs may not wanna touch him.

I am Christian and it is desperately sad watching this. These people have been brainwashed.

If he has the energy to carry on the job, he probably won't have a choice but to get cosy with them though. He could run as an independent, but he'd just split the Republican vote and ensure 4 more years for the Democrats.

 make it PPV and they’d make millions

Primaries happen also when there is an incumbent. Just that no one dares to challenge the incumbent.

I bet most wish he would fade away and never be heard from again, but its not going to happen, he will mention every single day , how he was robbed of a second term.
There is talk he may run again in 2024, could this happen, would the party have him again, mind you the 68m that have voted for him could sway them.

No, I have no idea if he would be able to or even interested in running again, but some right-wing pundits obviously think he will. I'm just saying that if it did happen, the debates would be magical.

Don Jr. or Ivanka could well run, but they won't win, and I suspect they know that. Most likely they will retreat to their business dealings.

I know he doesn't have that power but I reckon Trump will announce a re-run of the election.

Hm... maybe they have lower level precinct data? But Lackawanna county is where Scranton is, or at Wikipedia tells me. It also doesn't jive with the fact that all of Eastern PA looks to have shifted towards D based on the NYT results map tool that shows these shifts vs 2016
I bet Don Jr. would be the favorite (as sickening as that is).
Here's my struggle with that idea, and it's based on nothing but a feeling and I'm therefore probably wrong: I think that Trump not only won the GOP base by saying the absurd shit he did, but also that he says it with deep conviction. Anyone who has an ounce of doubt or is any bit concerned about media backlash to what they say just does not say 0.1% of those things. Take Jeff Sessions who is probably an actual old-school racist deep down... but you won't find the evidence of that out in the open. It's tucked away in some off-the-record conversations, or really in his actions. To bring it back to any of Trump Jr., Ivanka, etc. I think they're ok getting up there and saying "my dad, MAGA, Biden is a commie, etc". But I don't think they're willing to stand on a podium, talk shit about Mexicans and then double down on it for months to come. And somehow I think that's what the GOP base loved... that they felt that Trump meant it.

I'd be curious as to how they perceive Trump losing from a divinity perspective. Would they concede that God/Jesus simply didn't want Trump to win? Or if the Dems stole the election, why would God allow it to happen?
