2020 US Elections | Biden certified as President | Dems control Congress

No chance. It would be treated with the utter ridicule it deserves. It also wouldn’t happen here - we’re heading down America’s slippery slope but this shows we still have a fair way to go.
You've not been paying attention the the media decline over here in the UK. Even BBC news are just parroting official government lines these days.

We are not that far off the USA.

No one has been focussing on it as the race seems decided there but the NC count has literally not been moving at all since election day. Have they fallen into hibernation?

Biden's saying "count every vote"
Trump's saying "count every legal vote"

If you asked most people which they prefer (without knowing who said what) most people would say the second

And the problem is, Trump's people only need to find one illegal vote for Biden (and I'm sure there will be) to support their argument

Just because they disagree with their leaders comments they're not suddenly going to think the opposite end of the political spectrum is the way to go are they?

The idea that the Republicans and Democrats are at opposite sides of the political spectrum is a little laughable. Most elected Republicans will have far more common-ground with Biden than they do with Trump. Even if, as a Republican, someone legitimately saw Biden as a radical, they'd still be hard pressed to pick out anything he could possibly do that would be more damaging to the US than what Trump is trying to do now.

No he wouldn't. He would need to find a material amount that can swing a state.

Surely he would have to find way more than that.

Saw Fox for 5 mins.

Jeeeez. I can understand why that country seems so whacked out. Every single statement is a call to arms/ them against us

I agree with you. If you don't count then you won't know if it's a valid vote or an illegal vote or spoilt vote.

Bloody hell man.

Bolded bit especially is just nonsense.

When in fact Biden means "count every legal vote" and Trump means "count every vote that is in our favor..."

Time to make a coffee.. lets see if this is done and dusted by the time this caffeine buzz wears off. It's been such a weird few days.

Just to say thank you to everyone who posted and contributed to this thread (maybe not the fire penis though), I've not often posted, but I've learnt a great deal since it started, some of the stuff that's been shared has been really useful, funny, insightful - and it was really appreciated. This thread has been f5'd an insane amount of times since Monday, and I've accumulated about 12 hours sleep since then!

Barring the Republican requested spaghetti monster interference, although small, this is a rejection of the disgusting ideology of Trump, and hopefully a step in the right direction towards a more balanced and fair world (...Until Brexit and Boris literally orders the death of every 1st born child but because he waffles a bit then people still vote him in with a majority).

Anyway, thanks again all.

No.

Ooof Stepien caught on tape: "I invite democrats to waste ad money in Georgia, remember 2016, how did that go". Delicious.
Biden taking the lead in Georgia was the stroke of the shaft, but that little nugget was the tonguing of the balls. I'm just about ready to pop at this point.

This... isn’t how the law works.

Hardly. No court is going to overturn a state's election result on the basis of finding a handful of illegal votes compared to millions of votes cast. Besides, I'm sure Biden's camp could find just as many examples of illegal votes cast for Trump if they could really be bothered to look.

Exactly, they'll be illegal votes on both sides here and there. Unless it's a mass amount that can swing a state, there is no argument.

Crime will ALWAYS exist. A democracy has laws and systems in place to limit it. It can't extinguish it entirely.

I'm just saying, if you live in a democracy you have to live with the will of the people, on whatever basis of election the country has decided on. You won't always get the person you personally voted for. I wish he hadn't won as well but he did.

I just think that if people use this to undermine democracy then the next President could be a lot more dangerous than this guy.

Well said, Sparky from 2017.

Hope Biden takes PA, NV and AZ with more than 1 point and put all this nonsense to bed.

Winning 3-4 states more means Trump disputes and recounts will make it absolutely meaningless.

In UK terms it's laughable but that's because the left doesn't really exist in the US, in US political terms they're either end of the spectrum. Granted Biden is far more centre-right than Sanders for example but I'm not seeing why anyone who chose to vote from Trump a week ago would have changed over to Biden now - they'd be wanting their own party in power still, Trump or no Trump.

CNN trying everything humanly possible to play the "what if game", tedious.

I'm definitely no expert, but there's still hope in the Senate isn't there?

Two run offs in Georgia. They should throw the kitchen sink at those with a shite tonne of money. Plus Biden influence as President elect?
And maybe, just maybe, a surprise seat from Alaska :wenger:

As we just saw money didnt make that much of a huge difference. Lots of bodies on the ground knocking doors would be better

Count every vote unless there is evidence they are illegal. There is zero evidence so far.

And again, it's worth mentioning over and over and over again: the right-wing, conservative-funded, Republican-supporting Heritage Foundation has a public, accessible database of all known instances of voter fraud going back to 1979. They found 1289 instances. In 40 years' worth of elections.

If you believe voter fraud in any way or form is a significant problem, I recommend the lottery. There's a much better chance of you winning that than American elections having voter fraud that significantly influences the outcome in any way.

Whereas in the UK any fecker that strays left of Blair is labelled as an anti semite communist so the electorate fall for the chinless wonder Etonian again.

CNN: "Biden winning PA by 60k votes is a conservative estimate.....but lets for the sake say Trump can hold PA."

URGH. Just verbal diarrhoea

Thanks for the info.
No, he's wrong. House DELEGATES vote for the President: as in, every single state's House delegate votes. The Republicans have an overall minority in the House but they control more delegates (because Democrats have huge majorities in some larger delegates, like California). So Trump would almost certainly win that vote.
