The last 4 years have really been eye opening for me. My brother in law supports Trump, in part, because he gets all of his news from facebook. Seriously. It's maddening. We are just so un-informed as a nation. Our ability to filter our BS and look at things skeptically is just horrible. I hope Europe doesn't follow us down those roads.

I hate to be that guy who saw it coming but I stopped using Facebook after I got out of college and it started actively turning into narcissist central. Its really quite scary when you hear and look around how many of the people we all know went down the rabbit hole and every single one of them is on FB all the time. Watch "The Social Dilemma" on Netflix if you haven't yet. As for Europe - it seems in many ways some of the same crazy has actively been infiltratring their societies as well. It really is quite depressing.
My fav is the expectations that everyone speaks "American" (not English of course) or understand the often terrible attempt at the local language and also the sense that the same personal space folks like to create for themselves here needing to carry over to other countries and that manifests itself in many creative ways.
